Who’s Most Oppressed? Tensions High at Students of Color Conference (http://tomwoods.com/whos-most-oppressed-tensions-high-at-students-of-color-conference/)

Is it wrong or juvenile of me to take secret delight in stuff like this?

This year’s University of California Students of Color Conference degenerated into infighting over the conference theme of fighting “anti-blackness.”

Why, members of other groups demanded to know, should we focus on only one group’s oppression?

Because everyone knows blacks are the most oppressed group in America, came the reply.

Well, not everyone in the room accepted that.

The result was fighting, formal complaints, and canceled sessions.

“Students of other minority groups felt less inclined to protest for the causes of ‘Fighting anti-blackness’ and ‘Black Lives Matter,’” said UCLA student Jacqueline Alvarez. “They did not think that these issues applied to them and therefore had no reason to protest for them.”

A “color-blind” society, eh?

These folks sure don’t seem color blind. They seem determined to advance their own group interests.

Meanwhile, each group demands that it be taught a version of history that it wants to hear. Separate departments must be created to cater to their narcissistic self-preoccupation.

Parents pay in the six figures for their kids to (1) stare at themselves and (2) with zero sense of irony call other people on earth haters of diversity.

I wonder how a fight to decide who-is-the-biggest-victim plays out.

Because, think about it, if you win, you can no longer claim that you're a victim. But if you lose you can keep on wearing the victim label.

Born here, raised here, educated for free here, housed for free here, fed for free here, paid for not working here. That's oppression right down to the ground compared to people who work hard to move here, learn the language, start a business and work hard, pay taxes, pay for food and housing, work hard getting a diploma and get a scholarship to college, then spend the rest of one's life paying taxes to support people who wear the mantle of victimhood.
