The Washington Post yesterday added exculpatory language in the form of an “editor’s note” to the introduction of their Russian Propaganda/Fake News story. To paraphrase – Prop or Not insists on anonymity, the Washington Post didn’t itself did not name any of the sites, it was Prop or Not’s list – not ours, the Washington Post did not vouch for Prop or Not’s findings nor did their article purport to do so. The Washington Post added that Prop or Not took some sites off their list.

Our propaganda sank to a new low. We should be ashamed of ourselves. Our days are numbered, comrade Stalin.

So Washington Post's back-tracking boils down to is:

"Hey we tried to pull a fake news fast one over on the public in order to stifle and intimidate dissent, but got called on it by too many people. Therefore we admit the story is dubious. However we did not make the fabrications. We just legitimized and gave credibility to the bogus accusations by labeling them "experts" even though they are anonymous, and presented the false unsupported accusations as news through an amplified loudspeaker on a national platform while failing to do any investigation, demand evidence, fact-checking, check credentials, or verify methods or motives. Washington Post is not bad, were' just idiots with no actual malice."

Surprised the WaPo didn't just post an excuse that "The Russians made us do it"

That actually would have been pretty good. What they are doing instead is pathetic. I think they all should be sent to a mental institution instead of being allowed to spread this bull. Do I sound too authoritarian?

I think it comes from all other avenues of attack having not worked. So they try the BS and hope because they are the Washington Post that it will work, not realizing the more they pull this crap, the more they become NOT the washington post but a third rate blog
