Rodrigo Duterte Says Donald Trump Endorses His Violent Antidrug Campaign

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/03/world/asia/philippines-rodrigo-duterte-donald-trump.html?_r=0

President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines said on Saturday that President-elect Donald J. Trump had endorsed his brutal antidrug campaign, telling Mr. Duterte that the Philippines was conducting it “the right way.”Mr. Duterte, who spoke with Mr. Trump by telephone on Friday, said Mr. Trump was “quite sensitive” to “our worry about drugs.”
“He wishes me well, too, in my campaign, and he said that, well, we are doing it as a sovereign nation, the right way,” Mr. Duterte said.

Mr. Duterte has led a campaign against drug abuse in which he has encouraged the police and others to kill people they suspect of using or selling drugs. Since he took office in June, more than 2,000 people have been killed by the police in what officers describe as drug raids, and the police say several hundred more have been killed by vigilantes.

edit: The death count is closer to 5,000 according to other news sources

It's gonna be bad for peace and freedom when Trump's drug war gets underway. Trumps "law and order" will mean extralegal order.

The program has been condemned by the United States, the United Nations, the European Union and others for what rights organizations have characterized as extrajudicial killings. In rejecting such criticism from the United States this fall, Mr. Duterte called Mr. Obama a “son of a whore.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/03/world/asia/philippines-rodrigo-duterte-donald-trump.html?_r=0

If NYT is opposing him, he might not be violent enough for their taste. Do NYT neocons think Dute is better or worse than DGP who has been accused of killing far more innocent people including heinous crimes against underage children?

But this guy is a strange character, he was praised by Obama and in return he made such statements about our historic leader that are even more controversial than Trump fan James Woods' statements .

Are his statements about Obama are the main reason Trumpster is warming up to him ?

Philippines’ Duterte: Obama ‘can go to hell’

“Instead of helping us, the first to criticize is this State Department, so you can go to hell, Mr. Obama, you can go to hell,” Duterte said. Then addressing the EU, he said: “Better choose purgatory, hell is filled up.”

Right. If the government wants to ban drugs, it needs to amend the Constitution, just like with alcohol.

wisdom.

The media are the 'tyrants' here... like the pharisees of old.
Making the issue 'polemic' and rigid
when in fact..
it
is
anything
but.
Deuterte has made his choices.
He's in a war...
and not 'just' with jungle cooked meth.

They're both sovereigns. That's what they 'share'.
They also share the same enemy which was posted and listed above.

I see it as just a couple of warriors shaking hands.
That's all.

..when you're evaluating say, a baseball player...if they really really suck in practice...they're probably going to really really really suck come game time...

...he's 70 years old and so far in this 'practice' period his ideas tend to really really suck [that is, if you're looking for a person to promote a just, libertarian society]...your hope in prospect trump seems really really naive and/or pounded thumb-like.....;)

That's an endorsement of how he is doing it (as a sovereign nation) - not what he is doing.

Some people here choose to ignore facts. It's not anything new really. But it does show that Liberty is rapidly fading away. But hey, at least clinton lost.

In 8D multiverse chess, you have to defeat the establishment by hiring the establishment.
