View Full Version : Help design the Hightimes Ron Paul ad, tight deadline!

Here is rough mockup so far:

Help Ron Paul End The War On Drugs

10 term Congressman Ron Paul is the only major Presidential candidate to oppose the war on drugs. Although opposed to Marijuana on a personal level, he feels it is not the job of the government to make personal choices for citizens. Congressman Ron Paul believes that if an individual wants to use Marijuana it is that person's Constitutional right. As a strict constitutionalist, Ron Paul would bring in Supreme Court judges who recognize that the war on drugs violates the 10th Amendment of the Constitution.

* Ron Paul voted for the legalization of hemp!

* Voted 'No' on subjecting federal employees to random drug tests!

* Sponsored the States Rights To Medical Marijuana Act!

* Believes that the federal government does not have the constitutional right to regulate drugs!

* Ron Paul not only supports decriminalization, but full legalization!

If we want full legalization of Marijuana, we will need the Supreme Court on our side. As President, Ron Paul will only nominate judges who recognize the full scope of the 10th amendment. Ron Paul will work tirelessly to end the illegal and unconstitutional war on drugs. This is our opportunity, do not let it pass you by.

We also will elaborate on registering to vote and will need to put the standard warning at the bottom and top. Any PDF experts here? Please, the sooner we get a volunteer for this the better because we have a deadline (let's finish it by Monday or Tuesday).

Also if you have suggestions for improving the text post it here.

We ARE going to do this, I will do the Chip-In, someone needs to make the PDF. This is a full page, full color ad.

How about leaving some contact info (in this thread) so that I can cut and paste this to my local meetups and myspace. (if that's ok with you)

The subscribers to that magazine are avid voters I'm Sure!:D

That reminds me of a Simpsons episode where Homer becomes a pot head and tries to Rock The Vote, but they all forgot to vote. Ha!

Maybe mention that he's supported by Norml?

Also, High Times called him the Pro Pot Presidential Candidate in 1988

Looks like a great start.

1) Maybe we should get rid of the exclamation marks on the points, although maybe keep the one on the last one (the red one).

2) Bolding error on the points in the center. "He sponsored"

3) Maybe reduce the webpage size to the same size as "Ron Paul's Track Record Reflects What We Believe"

Now, what are we supposed to add to make it FEC compliant?

I design for a state NORML chapter. I'll take a shot at submitting for this.

Are you getting the full page bleed or non-bleed? please say non.

First of all, the content is excellent. The message that you chose is very effective.

However, I don't like the presentation much at all. I guess you were just doing a mock-up, but the typesetting was poor. Plus, I think that the information would be better communicated in bullet points. Now, I don't have much experience with advertisements, so take my opinions with a grain of salt. :)

I do think that this plan is a great idea.

I like the style of the orange one that's already been made, but I don't think the orange text stands out enough. It'd be great if it could be re-done with green, like the one about income tax/war. Also, I think the ad should have a picture of Ron. People will look right past text but pictures catch the eye.

What sold me on Paul was actually hearing him talk about the issues that matter most to me. Most people are skeptical of politicians, especially if it sounds too good to be true. I think it might be a good idea to add: Youtube "Ron Paul Marijuana" to learn more.

You might want to mention that he's a republican.

trey4sports
12-09-2007, 05:55 PM
besides just the war on drugs info you must add a blurb telling them to register republican so they can vote for him and tell them most primarys are on feb 5

How about "Find out what it takes to vote in the Republican Primaries in YOUR state." Maybe put it below the webpage. And can the webpage text be a tad smaller?

I posted in the other thread: Marc Emory posted here and said he was doing a ron Paul January issue of Cannabis Culture.

Is there a need to spend this money on one mag when the other is doing articles, etc?

I guess you can search his posts. I believe his screen name is Marc Scott Emory (spelling??) or whatever his middle name is.

END THE FEDERAL WAR ON DRUGS

w/ RON PAUL for PRESIDENT

"You wanna get rid of drug crime in this country? Fine, let's just get rid of all the drug laws."

Congressman Paul stands to
- end the expensive, futile, and in cases harmful 'war on drugs'
- legalize industrial hemp
- legalize medicinal marijuana
- stop federal agencies from violating states and individuals rights

Ron was given an 'A' rating by VOTE-HEMP
He is an official NORML Friendly candidate

he is a republican presidential candidate with a mass grassroots movement behind him,
but he is not your typical "republican"

he is a constitutionalist/ libertarian (think Thomas Jefferson)
NOT a neoconservative (think Ashcroft, Cheney, Bush, etc..)

Go to YouTube.com and search:
"ron paul morton"
"ron paul war on drugs"
"ron paul hemp"
.. as youll see, Ron's been fighting the good fight for over 20 years, but now people are starting to pay attention... lots of people!!

You can read a lot more about him online, and be sure to join your local
Ron Paul Meetup.com group (these are the hub of the grassroots campaign)
or call 1-800-RONPAUL
Find out why getting this guy elected will be GREAT, and ACT FAST
