Run, hide, fight” is standard protocol for active shooter situations. It means: Run, evacuate if possible; Hide, get silently out of view; or Fight, as a last resort, take action to disrupt or incapacitate the shooter if your life is in imminent danger.

"There's at least one body bag present in front of Koffolt Labs," read the tweet. "OSU police still advising to take shelter. Situation not under control."

The school paper also tweeted that there may be a second assailant.

Um.. dude used a knife. Gun free zone would have had zero impact. Only person shot was the perp- and that happened within only about two minutes after it started.

I posted this as was initially reported by the MSM. He used a machete not a knife. So perhaps this time around we all should be calling for the banning of violent films in Hollywood and Robert "Machete" Rodriguez should be locked up for inciting violence just as was the director of “Innocence of the Muslims”?

Umm, so you think "gun free zones" prevent gun attacks?

...Well, not event the university's Code of Conduct was able to prevent this terrible act:

3335-23-04 Prohibited conduct.

Any student found to have engaged, or attempted to engage, in any of the following conduct while within
the university’s jurisdiction, as set forth in rule 3335-23-02 of the Administrative Code, will be subject to
disciplinary action by the university. For the purposes of this section, attempt shall be defined as conduct
that, if successful, would constitute or result in the prohibited conduct.

...

(E) Dangerous weapons or devices.

Storage, or possession of dangerous weapons, devices, or substances including, but not limited to,
firearms, ammunition or fireworks, unless authorized by an appropriate university official or
permitted by a university policy, even if otherwise permitted by law. Use or misuse of weapons,
devices, or substances in a manner that causes or threatens serious harm to the safety or security
of others.

Obviously the edicts handed down by the school weren't strong enough!

Instead of edicts the force of law must be enacted!

Moar laws for moar safety!

Attackers don't choose their targets based on them being designated or not designated "gun free zones". No- they don't impact the situation.

So why is there such a thing as a gun free zone? Criminals pay no attention to them and the only people who do, should be able to defend themselves.

Gun Free Zones are "feel good laws" creating the impression of a "safe place". Truth is, attacks are very rare anyplace meaning almost anywhere is a "safe place" and odds of getting killed in an attack extremely tiny. You are more likely to die in your sleep.
