That would be very bad, because Trump could then fire him 3 days later, and then he would also be out of the Senate; what a perfect way to get rid of Trump's primary check to likely attempts to grow the police state, and other abuses of the Constitution.

If, on the other hand, Trump sees Rand as a possible ally, then he will need him in the Senate to help move points of agreement (hopefully liberty-friendly things) through congress and argue before hostile media the sense of particular positions. I suspect he work against Trump on some things and with him on others, just as he should.
