Some of you are aware that Mike Huckabee has scheduled a money bomb for December 12th http://www.gasforthebus.com/

And Dennis Kucinich is giving it a shot on the 15th http://www.december152007.com

I stongly suggest we do not try to compete with any other candidate's money bombs for the next week like we have in the past. Especially Huckabee's. It's clearly an effort to make a last minute attack on cutting our donations for the 16th. If we donate to compete with them, we're losing valuable history-making donations on the 16th.

Will he be linking to the teaparty07.com website then? :D

With Kucinich it's (Bill Of Rights - 2). 2nd and 10th are gone with him.

I haven't seen people donate to compete with other candidates yet. At least not noticeably in the graphs.

It happened with Huckabee a couple weeks ago. We poured in about 250,000-300,000 and beat his 200,000+

nice grassroots fund raising drive

Maybe he should ride around in a modest car like Ron Paul :D

Which is exactly why they won't raise jack compared to Ron Paul. His support is soft. The only reason he is surging in the polls is because he is getting favorable media coverage and average people see him as the alternative to Rudy McRomney. The Huckabee support is a good thing for us. The way I see it, the majority of the Huckster polling #'s are just people looking for the best alternative. They think Huck is that guy, but only because they haven't discovered Ron Paul. After the 16th, and the ensuing MSM coverage these people will convert to Ron Paul. Plus, the MSM attacks are starting to roll on Huckabee...this will displace many of his "supporters" back to undecided...then they will discover Ron Paul.

The stars are aligning perfectly. I think Huck is at his peak right now. His supporters are not going to go gack to the "front-runners"...they're already proven they're not interested in them. Ron Paul is going pick up the people who abandon the Huckabee bandwagon.

Personally, I dont' think an attempt by Ron Paul grassroots to match Huck on his money bomb day will have much of an effect on the teaparty. Anyone motivated enough to donate to RP on the Huck day is guaranteed to still donate on teaparty.

I agree! Beating the last Huckabomb made sense because the campaign was needing money a couple of weeks ago. But this week - we cannot compromise the tea party.

So did anyone sign up to huckabee's to find out how many pledges they have? Apparently it's top secret to anyone who doesn't pledge.

I've pledged thousands to the Huckabee "Bus in bible thumping gay bashing war mongerers" day, but I can't seem to find my wallot. Whoops! I guess another day of unfufilled Huckabee predictions.

I don't really think we should be making fake pledges.

You're right, but even if we don't, they're still going to make baseless, exaggerated, unprovable accusations like last time Fred's bomb bombed. As though fake pledges somehow magically reduce the number of real pledges and are a realistic excuse for lousy fundraising.

No we shouldn't, but if they aren't going to play fair, I won't either.

Just like some people almost screwed us over on the Blimp project.

I agree with you, Dirka. It's a bad idea to make false pledges because the blowback almost bankrupted Trevor on the blimp thing. Thank God we stepped in to save the day with real donations. I think we should keep focused on Ron Paul. Instead of doing things the old way, creating negativity around our candidate's opponents, we're going to do alot better by keeping a positive focus on RP and working to get his message out and expand his ranks of supporters. I think it's time better spent. Besides, they will all destroy each other. We don't have to waste our time.

I like to think we still play fair and above all that and we do have a lot of visitors here too. We've taken a lot of blame that wasn't ours too.
