Today the question of where the funding will come to sponsor Trump's ambitious plan to "Make America Great" again and reform America's tax code so that both the economy and inflation areshaken higher, is starting to emerge loud and center, and in an unexpected twist, a bit hurdle may have emerged. As Goldman writes in a research report overnight, strategist Alec Phillips writes that while "there is substantial support in Congress for proposals to cut taxes and reform the tax code and that there is likely to be sufficient support to enact a modest infrastructure package, perhaps combined with tax reform", Goldman's impression "is that market expectations of quick fiscal expansion may be running ahead of political and legislative realities."

In all fairness, people were pointing this out a year ago during the primaries. Mostly, the voters didn't give a fuck.

Why don't they just print more money?

12 $12 trillion dollar coins is all that is needed. The way I see it, every president has doubled the US debt in 8 yrs since Bush, so if Trump only increases the debt by $12 trillion instead of $20 trillion like is expected while making America great again, then he has done more than Bush and Obama combined.

$12 trillion is only the projected impact of his tax cuts. It does not include his massive spending "stimulus" proposals. (debt under Obama has increased less than $10 trillion in eight years). Add a few more $trillions and he too could double the debt if he gets what he wants.

Federal deficits are private savings. Deficit spending at this point should go towards hiring those unemployed and underemployed people in the system.

I see two potential solutions:

#1 - Bill Mexico

or...

#2 - Spend LESS

They tried that. It doesn't work like your textbook says in the real world.

And why is this unexpected? His platform was always to run up massive debt. Hell, that's his business model.

They tried that. It doesn't work like your textbook says in the real world. Really? Obama added over a trillion to private savings, thanks to his high deficit spending. Oddly enough, all those additions kind of tapered off in 2012...because Obama returned to modest budget levels.

Congress writes the budgets. Spending under Obama hardly grew due to the stalemate in Congress which made it difficult to pass anything.

(Obama took office in 2009 but the first budget passed while he was president was for fiscal 2010)

You really don't understand what I'm talking about, do you? You see the words "Obama" and "deficit", and the preprogrammed post comes out.

At this point that's the only thing to do. It's too late for fiscal responsibility. It's time to go out in one big orgy of spending before it all comes crashing down.
