In 2011, Rohrabacher voted against the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Defense_Authorization_Act_for_Fiscal_Year _2012) as part of a controversial provision that allows the government and the military to indefinitely detain American citizens and others without trial.[16] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dana_Rohrabacher#cite_note-16)
I can't believe Trump is thinking about filling his cabinet with all of these anti-liberty people!

He's also pretty good on foreign policy according to wikipedia - not perfect - but pretty good and has shown to genuinely learn from his few mistakes.
He was a hardcore libertarian activist when he was younger.
He also supports legalized cannabis.

If we get Dana, I will be ecstatic. He meshes perfect with Trump's vision. Go look up the terse exchange that Dana had with Victoria Nuland over Ukraine.

A Secretary of State that openly uses cannabis would be pretty cool. :D

He is a congressman around here that is relatively accessible, he's not a bad guy, he's got the right idea on some things.
I wonder why they would go with him, thats a very interesting pick.
He got his ass ripped open on NDAA trying to speak to a local Oath Keepers group, it was...lol

From the article linked in OP:
Rohrabacher, once a Reagan speechwriter and a House member since 1989, emerged Tuesday night as a possible Trump pick. His views jive closely with Trump's on foreign policy, immigration and global warming.
Giuliani and Bolton are being vetted for the job once held by Hillary Clinton, but a major roadblock arose this week when Republican Sen. Rand Paul announced that he would likely oppose both. He believes they back past failed policies in the Middle East.

He'd probably be better than Clinton, which is something I don't think I could say for Giuliani or Bolton.
Should we trust the OP's reliance on MSM sources?

Samantha Power appears to have a new makeover but she's just as annoying as ever (1st video above).

He attacked Paul Ryan for renouncing Trump.
Rohrabacher also has a younger wife like Trump does.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN7Ap9WzoS4
He gave a speech that covered a variety of topics that are sure to interest every American. They are listed here:
• Government Eavesdropping
• Loss of freedom by unelected people in DC
• Second and Tenth Amendment rights
• Police force in every government agency
• We've reached a turning point in our country
• The Fed should not interfere with state laws regarding medical marijuana
• Local school funding
• Global warming is a fraud and part of a bigger global agenda
• The U.N. is run by lunatics and criminals
• GMOs
• Regrets supporting Bush in the Iraq war
• His position on Iraq today
• What really happened in Beirut 1983 when 300 marines were killed by terrorists
• The role of local police and surplus military equipment
• Illegal immigration vs. legal immigration
• Our yearly $500B budget deficit and the collapse of the dollar
• Technology will save this county and is key to producing wealth

Rand Paul has been promoted from annoying wacko-bird Senator with no influence, to "major roadblock."

Rand Paul has been promoted from annoying wacko-bird Senator with no influence, to "major roadblock."
That's probably the best news in all of this...
Honestly, I don't know much about Rohrabacher. He certainly sounds better than Giuliani or Bolton though.
We'll have to see.

Rand Paul has been promoted from annoying wacko-bird Senator with no influence, to "major roadblock."
As well as a necessary ally of the senate majority leader.
If we really think about it, Rand's in a great position especially now that the DC power structure is GOP controlled. Rand has easy/early/attainable access to senate floor procedures and can get bills that are reasonable up for votes almost anytime he wants. Audit The Fed almost passed senate last time with McConnell's support. Good investment in terms of having to endorse McConnell and nobody was sure if Bevin would've beat McConnell in the primary anyways and the result would've turned out real ugly.

I would be comfortable... actually enthused by having Rohrabacher as SoS.
It's a den of vipers he'd be in charge of though...
is he 'up' to the task???
He's a good man... just not sure if his 'mellow' nature
could wield the sword when needed.
The 'job description' for a SoS is probably
one of the most demanding in federal government.. really tough.

Rohrabacher is by far the #1 pro Putin's Russia man in Congress.

LOL. True.
Anyway here's the moral of the story. We need to keep the pressure on Trump. Thank you Rand and thank you everyone who Tweeted "No way in hell" to Trump on John Bolton. As for the Trumpskiites who want to get mad every time we call out their man on bullsheet. Forget em.

WhoEVER is going to be the new SoS
is going to be the spox for a complete 180 on foreign policy.
The 'Asia Pivot' will be GONE (and good riddance.)
Instead of using obstruction, destabilization and terrorism
to try and thwart the inevitable growth of China/Russia...
The Eurasian development has already attracted Trump to the OBOR of China and the AIIB infrastructure bank.
Probably the entire New Silk Road of China and EAEU of Russia
is not going to be without major US participation.
The FOCUS now will be facilitation, participation, investment and benefits.
The primary interest of the Trump foreign policy will be to make America wealthy again.
Once Trump is sworn in, Carter Page will be back, most likely.
He has connections to Gazprom, is well-liked in Moscow,
and will be a link for American energy companies
and perhaps some joint ventures in the gas field development and pipeline industry.
Several friends of Trump are from the gas and oil industry,
and the world is a small world when energy is the issue.
The Arctic, the eastern Mediterranean, the South China Sea and other large development zones
have enormous new fields to be tapped and exploited.
Even the Black Sea zone around Crimea has yet-to-be-tapped energy stores.
HERE (http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-11-19/fear-and-loathing-inside-deep-state)
No More 'Coups' (The 'Deep State' MIplex is dreading the coming purge. )
Trump is not going to be trying to coup anyone.
His policy is no regime changes.
He also does not like these secret wars of the CIA.
If there is to be war, he wants it fought by the military, with a plan for victory.
Principally, Trump’s wars will be like President Eisenhower’s.
There were none for eight years.
We watch and wait... probably for several years yet.
The above is just an op ed... agreed. No one 'knows' yet.
Too optimistic? We'll see. We'll watch.
RPF Rottweilers are STANDING BY!!
Don't try ANY shiit Donald.... we're WATCHING YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dana has always been on the "good guys" in congress lists of the past several years I have seen. somewhere right below Massie, Amash, and Jones. I truly hope he is picked. There's no way anyone better would be appointed.
