Trump surrounds himself with a bunch of sycophants because he loves power. He will be the most authoritarian President in recent history.

Apprentice's Omarosa to Land White House Job

(NEWSER) – The Boston Globe wasn't terribly far off with its satirical prediction that Donald Trump would name Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault as education secretary. Manigault is expected to nab a job in Trump's White House focusing on public engagement, sources tell the AP. A member of the transition team's executive committee, Manigault had initially hoped to be named ambassador to Haiti, a transition official tells ABC News.

A lecturer on branding and marketing at Howard University who was engaged to actor Michael Clarke Duncan at the time of his death in 2012, per Reuters, Manigault, 42, actually has more political experience than many others Trump has asked to join his team. She served as director of African-American outreach during Trump's campaign and previously worked in Vice President Al Gore's office during Bill Clinton's administration.

If Trump were a foreign dictator, then perhaps.

Dude... I honestly think unlike ole Andy Johnson, who did not get convicted at his Senate Trial, Donald John Trump will be booted out of office if he further alienates Mitch McConnell. I think the reason Mitt Romney is trying to secure Orrin Hatch's seat stems from how close many good folks in the GOP are to voting with the Democrats. William Seward kept Andrew Johnson in office. If Trump abuses Senator Mitch once again, things may not end up as a 55 to 45 or possibly 45 to 55 vote. 60 senators is the magic number in terms of this all...

The Senate could flip but the House might see the GOP emerge with a narrow margin.
The assumption is that the newer voters who are young and only recently politically
active will vote Liberal and not sit things out. The Koch Bros are said to have a huge
200 to 400 million dollar capacity for mischief. Campaign kitty? Anyway, we know how
far moneybombing gets one. Rand I feel quit things a tad early in 2016, is 2020 his year?

In the 2012 election, when polling was done for the general election, if one was over the age of 30, things
were a 50/50 toss up between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. The voters aged 18 to 30 tended to vote
for Obama. This is six years later. The assumption is that the younger voters will turn out in droves, but if
they don't, this helps the GOP. Admittedly the clothespin on the nose rule of thumb governs much of this.

I was away from things after Rand had dropped out. Are
you telling me that Matt Collins has gained in both wisdom
and seniority to the degree where he has the respect of
many on these forums, since his staying power is legendary?
I actually told him to seek office in Tennessee and to do with
the steps that would take him to D.C, on the hope that he'd
be more direct and honest with us all than most of the political
hacks out there. Many of the members who joined in 2007 and
2008 were very idealistic and had a moral code. Over time, great
issues fell by the wayside and incessant squabbles became the
norm. A presidential run if carried through on maybe might
bring some of us back into the fray, hopefully. Eventually. maybe.

Ross Perot came close to fragmenting both political parties. DJT has
unified the Democrats and split the Republicans, this is like a repeat

The various Russians around Putin are connected to armies of hackers

Luv... It would be fun to be her campaign manager if she does a POTUS run!
I'd tell her I'd be too stupid to be as clever & crafty as was Mister Manafort!
The honest candidate teams up with the honest campaign manager for once!

I am going to die from boredom.

Of course she has to trash DJT in order to draw JEB & Shrub & Mittster people to her!
I'd be "You go, Girl!!!" As in don't hold back. Give the GOP the raw meat it deserves...

Or maybe we put the GOP on a metaphoric diet. No raw meat. Only soy...

Aratus

Rand blew it big time when not taking DJT down in the debates.
He did keep his senate seat and if he goes back on his word about
being a two term senator, he'd be a damn fine three term senator.

Okaaaaaaay.... I am a Star Trek fan and actually liked the Farpoint episode that introduced STTNG.
Am I of the Q Continuum? You have handed me a backhanded compliment. Actually. A neat one!!!

He is destined to sit in
Henry Clay's other seat,

I do live in the Bay State where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans
two to one, and inside our GOP at least 90% of the active voters thought highly
of Mitt Romney quite often. I think he may end up in Orrin Hatch's seat next.
