View Full Version : Limbaugh, etc. are celebrating but have no idea what is coming.

I'm listening to republicans celebrating the "victory", Rush Limbaugh in particular, and I can tell they have no idea we are heading for a massive recession and possible dollar collapse. I really wanted Hillary to win so that the collapse was blamed on her and socialsim. Now we'll have to listen to liberals blaming the crash on Trump (even if it happens before January!).

At least it will be fun to watch the conservative reaction when stuff hits the fan. The celebration is going to be very short lived. I want to see what happens when we hit the debt ceiling limit in March. I'm betting on yet another flip-flop, republicans will vote to raise it, dems not. Remember that during the Bush years it was the repubs voting to raise, then during the Obama years the dems voted to raise. The hypocrisy is so obvious on both sides yet neither side can see it. Each side calls out the other for being hypocritical while ignoring the fact that they do the EXACT SAME THING.

I do not believe that Shangri La will collapse as quickly as you do. We will get at least another three years of illusionary stability on account of the hopes now getting pinned on this guy.

3 justices over the age of 80. He will probably replace two at minimum if you include Scalia's replacement.

You are right. But it's not as bad as you think, because Trump is a liberal. We just need to make sure that our camp successfully disassociates itself from him.

The system will not collapse. Most likely. They will just print money. You are a bunch of fools. Try to listen to the other side instead and use logic.

Oh yea another reason to quit. This place is full of nihilistic anarchists. Didn't some of you want to vote for the Meteor? Way to go to win an election!

Personally I'm not talking about a collapse of the "system", I'm talking about the dollar.

I just read an article that Trump's team wants the Fed to shrink its balance sheet. That's the right thing to do but I don't think they realize what will happen when the biggest buyer of bonds become the biggest seller. Rates will skyrocket and we'll either have to drastically cut spending (including military, SS, Medicare) or we'll have to partially default.

The Dollar is the System bro :)

I don't really care anymore. The easy way out is to continue to print and debase the dollar. They can do it so they will do it. Unless Soros wants Trump to fail.. then the banking cartel might decide to screw America to make Trump lose.

that would be ironic.

...would/could one of you republican trump cheerleaders merely copy and paste trump's best 100 consecutive words on 'monetary policy'........................................... ...............(i didn't think so)

....republican trump-suckers will be proven as naive and stooooooooooooooooooooooopid as the democrat idiots who voted for obomba expecting a cessation in US militarism/interventionism/warmongerism...

Yup. I'm not a conspiracy theorist when I predict a collapse of the dollar. It's simply the path of least resistance. Printing money is easier than cutting spending or borrowing or raising taxes.

I've also wondered whether the Fed would tighten policy to crash the economy and make Trump look bad. But then the banks would fail and I believe that's where the Fed's loyalty really is. I don't doubt they'd like to make Trump look bad, but not at the expense of their banks.

Anyway this should be interesting. I was surprised Trump has already talked about getting the Fed to tighten. I figured he'd keep quiet about and hope the Fed stays loose.

It gets annoying how Trump supporters call anyone who doesn't want the biggest government in the history of the earth to get even bigger "purists."

You're a lot closer to Hillary than any of us are.

madison 320 asserts: Yup. I'm not a conspiracy theorist when I predict a collapse of the dollar. It's simply the path of least resistance. Printing money is easier than cutting spending or borrowing or raising taxes.

...ummm....'the government' only 'prints money' (stupid description of what actually happens) at the behest of the PRIVATE 'federal' 'reserve'....the PRIVATE fed. (PRIVATE commercial banks) can use the treasury bonds, etc., they get for NOTHING as collateral to secure an issue of the little green ragcloth rectangles...

...get it right!!...'your' government 'prints up' treasury bonds (debt instruments...promises to pay/repay)...the PRIVATE banksters 'print-up' the number$/money ('out of thin air') they use to acquire treasury bonds...get real...deal with facts...

...[remember folks, if you don't understand the HIDEOUS origin and nature of even one 'dollar,' your opinions about the illion 'dollar' economy are most likely worse than worthless...]

...a little hint: people who don't readily understand what thomas edison is trying to impart below need to hu$h up about virtually anything 'political'....(that's the WHOLE bunch of republicrats as near as i can tell):

“People who will not turn a shovel full of dirt on the project nor contribute a pound of material, will collect more money from the United States than will the People who supply all the material and do all the work. This is the terrible thing about interest ...But here is the point: If the Nation can issue a dollar bond it can issue a dollar bill. The element that makes the bond good makes the bill good also. The difference between the bond and the bill is that the bond lets the money broker collect twice the amount of the bond and an additional 20%. Whereas the currency, the honest sort provided by the Constitution pays nobody but those who contribute in some useful way. It is absurd to say our Country can issue bonds and cannot issue currency. Both are promises to pay, but one fattens the usurer and the other helps the People. If the currency issued by the People were no good, then the bonds would be no good, either. It is a terrible situation when the Government, to insure the National Wealth, must go in debt and submit to ruinous interest charges at the hands of men who control the fictitious value of gold.”

You still don't get it that Trump is a big government socialist. Why are you happy at all that someone like that got elected? The really bad thing about it is that he has an (R) by his name, and that is going to destroy the case for smaller government for many years to come.

FREE!! (advice :) )

IF you bought on a 5 year or 7 year ARM, GET OUT NOW!
You overbought and you know it. Especially if you bought in the 2013 -2014 timeframe. Interest rates are about to rise and you are going to get F'd hard. Dont get caught surprised. Get the house ready for hitting the market ASAP and get it listed.

Before you ask:

Will I be okay? I live here.....

Go and look at the market history in your area. Very few places will be "ok" I can only think of a few like DC, Austin, SF, SD that will be riding this out fine.

I dont have an arm, I have a fixed rate .....

You wont be able to refi likely into a better situation. If you are on the edge, anticipate a move, or need to take equity, do it now. You may end up underwater later and need to ride it out for a few years. Look back at what happened in 2008-9 and use that as your guide. Can you live with that?

But I want to buy a home now...

Only buy at 1/2 what you can qualify for. If that doesnt look good then you shouldnt be buying at the peak. Keep saving or find a better cheaper place.

Is this area in my city good????

Often 0-15 minutes outside a town is the highest prices by far. 15-30 is what most people strive for that are not C suite or director levels. 30-1 hour are the people that get hosed the worst in downturns. DONT BUY HERE.

More then 1 hour drive you can often find an amazing deal for half the price and often a better home. If you can make that drive, then do it. If you cant, look at jobs closer to that location.

But I am renting, I dont want to throw away money....

Then dont go buy at the peak now and literally watch hundreds of K disappear in value. It is a smart move to rent in a down market, just keep it to 1 year or less terms.

...whine all you want...without using federal reserve notes yourself or having someone else use them in your behalf you are, VERY QUICKLY, either dead..(or wish you were), in jail, both...(try taking your gold or your bitcoin down to the town office to pay your $4000 property tax assessment...)

...and the belief that some stinking, polluting, ruinous gold bug system is 'the solution' is goddamned foolish...

...imo, ludwiggers need to learn about the present and the past before working the holes about the future...
