View Full Version : Suggestion/Ideas : Campaign to nominate Judge Nap for Supreme Court Justice

With the Senate refusing to confirm Obama's nominee and more nominees to come there are many opportunities to get some great and honorable Constitutional scholars in the Supreme Court.

I'd put effort and money into this. The man is well respected and has visibility on Fox and thus the conservative base, just takes a little push to get the Donald supporters to be into it and bring this into the "mainstream".

Team Liberty in DC would be supportive, maybe even Ron would throw in an endorsement.

Thoughts?

I see no downside to this. I saw something in a tweet where Trump was asking for suggestions, I'll see if I can find it again.

maybe a formal petition? Could the Liberty Forest coalesce around this?

Wouldn't that be a nice change?

Maybe Rand could help it along if people contact him with the idea.

At least we know the only serious filibuster'er won't stand for this one.

Does anybody know the timing of how this will all go down? Meaning when the nomination will occur? Has to be right around when Trump gets into office, no? They can't leave this lingering too long.

Doesn't the judge have some business dealings with the Donald? Might be a conflict of interest somewhere.

How does Peter Thiel fit into the Trump presidency?

Trump seems to have gotten here with little political debt but I imagine he owes Peter some gratitude.

Peter is an ally, yes?

Napolitano would shoot down almost everything Trump wants to do. Why on Earth would he go for this?

I think I recall the judge sticking up for him recently. Anyway, brainstorming how to get Liberty people close to Trump is a good move.

I wish we could get the Paul's in close to drop some knowledge. Trump has the biggest ego on the planet but I believe he knows in over his head on this.

It's why he always answers with "I've got the best people" for this and that. He's going to outsource.

It would be great if the "best people" are Liberty people.

Why not make Amash a SCOTUS member? He could be there for 40 or 50 years. He's got his law degree from a great school.

I'm certain the Pauls would help out if asked. But they would have to be asked. And Trump's vision is the opposite of liberty, so I'm pretty sure he isn't asking.

Do we need a liberty lobbyist? Shit!

I think we do.

Exactly, Trump is an outsider, a newcomer, this stuff is all brand new to him and I'm sure he wants to do a good job and leave a good legacy. The guy wasn't a groomed socialist tool like Obama was, we're getting something completely different, albeit unpredictable in many ways.

The judge seems like a reasonable pick given the current conditions as a realistic option for the job.

Anybody familiar with the timing for all of this? We can't be too early and can't be too late.

Maybe start a petition at change.org?

We would be better off with Ron Paul as President, Rand Paul as VP, Judge Nap as SCOTUS (the whole SCOTUS), Peter Schiff as Fed Chairman until it gets abolished, then economic adviser, Alex Jones as Sec. of State.

Trump should do his own change.org, maybe MAGA.org

So you're suggesting a full on coup? I dig it.

He basically committed to picking from a list of 20? Is JN on this list?

From his "Contract With America":

Additionally, on the first day, I will take the following five actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law:

* FIRST, cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama

* SECOND, begin the process of selecting a replacement for Justice Scalia from one of the 20 judges on my list, who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States

I could be wrong but I don't think he has put out a formal list. Sounds like it is 20 people he has mentioned throughout his campaign. I think he may have mentioned Nap early on in the primary. Lee is on a list of 11 people Trump released (thread in 2016 liberty campaign section).

I read good things about Mike Lee. Are there any other names from this list people like?
I agree with posts above that he's likely to pick one of these twenty one names, so maybe it's best to find a top option or two and throw support to them.

It is normal Rudy and Newt are rewarded. Maybe there are establishment plants but even then that's how politics work.

When Trump rolls out with universal health care, stop-and-frisk checkpoints nationwide, war in Iran, and -2% interest rates, I have a feeling you will support that as well. I hope we never have to see you around here again afterwards.

Nominate Lying Ted and the Senate will approve almost unanimously just to get rid of him.
