4 Times As Many Americans Think Biased U.S. Media – Not Foreign Interests Such As Russian Hackers – Real Threat To Fair Election

A Suffolk University/USA Today poll released Friday found that 75.9% of Americans believe the mainstream media “would like to see [Hillary Clinton] elected president.”

The poll also found that only 10% of Americans believe that “foreign interests such as Russian hackers” are “the primary threat that might try to change the election results”. In contrast, 45.53% believe “the news media” is the primary threat to the election:

Earlier today I said I think television news has lost its relevance. I think the MSM in general has lost its relevance. They have tried to say that social media as a news source (the goal of Mark Zuckerberg) leads to a more ignorant, less informed voter. So it's all our fault for not swallowing the poison of the MSM, so they have to go further and tell us how to vote.

To the extent that it serves as an echo chamber (and as a venue in which anyone can peddle just about any kind of nonsense and have it taken seriously by somebody), so-called "social media" as a news source probably does lead to more ignorant, less informed people.

But that's not why the mavens of traditional media wail and moan about it. Rather, they are upset because traditional media are no longer the "gatekeepers" of public discourse and the arbiters of conventional "wisdom" ...
