View Full Version : Trump: Hillary Started “Birtherism.” Liberal Reporter: Trump is Right

Where was the question of where Obama was born, born? That is now the question. And GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has his own answer: “Hillary Clinton, and her campaign of 2008, started the Birther controversy,” he said at a Friday campaign event. “I finished it.”

This assertion has now been backed up by a reporter, too, with former McClatchy Washington Bureau Chief James Asher revealing that Clinton surrogate Sidney Blumenthal pitched the story to him in 2008.

Furthermore, even a former Clinton campaign head admits some involvement. As Breitbart reports, “Patti Solis Doyle, who was Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager in 2008 until the Iowa caucuses, admitted on Friday that a Clinton campaign staffer had, in fact, circulated the Birther conspiracy theory that Barack Obama was born outside the U.S. and therefore potentially ineligible to serve in the presidency.” Doyle, however, claims the staffer was a “rogue” whom she quickly fired

Trump says Clinton started birther movement in 2008, Clinton says birther movement Launched Trumps campaign. Trump campaigned for Clinton in 2008. They are throwing poo over who started this shit when they were both on the same campaign that started the birther movement? Trump pushed birtherism very publicly from 2011 to the present, and built a political following from it. That's their point.

Just shows how two-faced she is, doesn't it? Trump may have come out and changed his mind or whatever, but at least he doesn't act two-faced about it like Hillary.

I mean, we got people on the left and right coming out saying that Hillary started the birther thing in during the 2008 election - I certainly remember the birther thing back in 2008, it had nothing to do with Trump.. and several people are claiming it originated from the Hillary camp.

That Hillary Clinton supporters circulated such an e-mail isn't in question, but the claim that that's the moment the birther theory "first emerged" simply isn't true. The likeliest point of origin we've been able to find was a post on conservative message board FreeRepublic.com dated 1 March 2008 (which, according to a report in The Telegraph, was at least a month before Clinton supporters got on the e-mail bandwagon):

I was told today that Obama swore in on a Koran for his Senate seat. I do not believe he did. Can someone clarify this for me? I am under the impression only a Congressman has so far sworn in on a Koran.

Also that Obama’s mother gave birth to him overseas and then immediately flew into Hawaii and registered his birth as having taken place in Hawaii.

Again, any clarifications on this? Defintely disqualifies him for Prez. There must be some trace of an airticket. While small babies are not charged air fare they do have a ticket issued for them.

Long time ago but there may be some residual information somewhere. Good ammo (if available and true) BEST USED AFTER he becomes PREZ (if that occurs) and it’s too late for Dems - except accept the VP.

The same rumor was repeated, with elaborations, four days later on the conservative blog Ruthless Roundup:

Add to the family history shown in this article that Obama's mother was allegedly visiting Kenya with Obama's father in the final months of her pregnancy and was not allowed to board a flight in her late term to return home.

She allegedly had Obama in Kenya and quickly boarded a flight to Hawaii. Airlines do not accept late term pregancies but do not refuse passage to a newborn, usually issuing a 10% or free fare ticket for the trip.

Once in Hawaii, his mother registered him as being born in Hawaii.

The conspiracy theory was already fully formed at this point. Clearly, the Clinton supporters accused of spreading it via forwarded e-mails knew "good ammo" when they saw it, but, as the above posts show, they deserve neither credit nor blame for the invention of birtherism.

Hillary wasn't going around spreading this nonsense like all the various examples we have of Trump up to this day. Even if she did, "Hillary too!" isn't an excuse for Trump's nonsense.

Hillary is pretty honest, she would have admitted if her campaign started Obama is muslim, Obama is birther rumors etc in 2007-08 cycle.

Actualy 54% GOP base believe these "rumors" to be true, so Hillary could almost run on a GOP ticket under the right wind directions. She used to be a Republican before Billy swpet her off her feet.

Emails Show Hillary Aide Sid Blumenthal Created Obama "Birther" Conspiracy
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-09-20/emails-show-hillary-aide-blumenthal-pushed-obama-birther-conspiracy

Following last week's clarification from Trump that President Obama is American-born, the mainstream media has worked hard to dispel his claims that Hillary's team in fact started the "birther" issue. Just this morning, Hillary exclaimed that she was "appalled" that Trump had not apologized to Obama, which is ironic as McClatchy has just clarified the details on emails that show Hillary Clinton confidant Sid Blumenthal did share "birther" story tips.

An oldie but made relevant by the Trump birther 'scandal'. From Brietbart: The Vetting – Exclusive – Obama’s Literary Agent in 1991 Booklet: ‘Born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii’ [Ed: the first birther seems to have been Obama himself.] And a related item from Snopes: A 1991 literary promotional booklet identified Barack Obama as having been born in Kenya. [Ed: while verifying the publication, Snopes denies that this is 'proof' of anything. Note: Snopes' lack of bias has been severely questioned in the past.] From the Washington Examiner: Does Clinton have a Blumenthal birther problem?

Not Obama's words:

According to the booklet itself, the text was edited by Miriam Goderich, who has since become Dystel’s partner at Dystel & Goderich, an agency founded in 1994. Breitbart News attempted to reach Goderich by telephone several times over several days. Her calls are screened by an automated service that requires callers to state their name and company, which we did. She never answered.

Jay Acton no longer represents Obama.
...
It also promotes Obama’s anticipated first book, Journeys in Black and White–which Obama abandoned, later publishing Dreams from My Father instead.

In any case, after the long form birth certificate was released in 2011, Trump promoted birtherism 67 times (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/67-times-donald-trump-tweeted-birther-movement/story?id=42145590) in tweets and numerous times on TV talk shows.

So? The point being, Clinton started slinging Kenyan mud first, no matter what fucking Schism and Snopes wants everyone to believe.

Frankly, I don't care where idiot Barry Soetoro was spawned. Obama is a Marxist POS just like his loser parents, and I can't wait until his current "job" is over so I don't have to see his smug Narcissistic face everyday plastered all over the internet (he wants to destroy) making demands and lecturing everyone on the planet, before he moves onto speechifying at his fellow and fawning IYI (https://www.lewrockwell.com/2016/09/no_author/intellectual-idiots/) for a living.

When he was elected, looking at him was a major relief from having to endure W's. ;)

I'm no Obama lover but I'd still rather look at his face any day than either Clinton's or Trump's. Four years of that will be crazy making.
