If he gets into the debates, he has reasonable chance of winning at least 20 electoral votes, which might be enough to let the House choose the President. But I think in this day and age, they probably wouldn't give it to someone who wins a handful of states. The Congress would probably rather collaborate to have Hillary/Pence or Trump/Kaine.

He like Ted Cruz and possibly Marco Rubio is positioning to run again in 2020. Compare Mitt Romney's 2008 delegate totals to those
in
2012.

Nobody realistic is expecting that to happen but even by some miracle GJ gets enough electoral votes to throw it to Congress, the butterfly effect would be a net benefit to the LP and third choice movement. It will be talked about in future elections and cement LP as a true third party contender that they party's would either have to court or diligently work to abolish.

You either have what it takes to progress this country into accepting third parties, or you don't.

I think if he was to get into the debates, it could become a 3 way race. In the internet age things happen very quickly. Appearing on a national stage with Trump and Clinton, Johnson would seem reasonable in comparison.

But they probably will never let Johnson in.

The Libertarian Party does not deserve anything. Look what horrible candidates they have given you.

Why should I feel they are horrible?

They aren't that bad really.

This is where you respond with how they don't support your pet issue.

Having another candidate to debate against might cause Clinton to go into seizure. That alone is worth it.

the senate, picking from top 2, would surely pick Pence. The House picks from the top 3 on first ballot, then top 2. Hillary would be one of the top 2, so if Johnson is second the house would pick him.

election could be 269-269 (if held today a realistic possibility or 269-268 if an elector bolts.(as a TX elector threatened) and the house could pick the person with the 1 electoral vote. probably would end the electoral college, but could happen

If the Senate is deadlocked on the VP by inauguration day, Paul Ryan would become acting POTUS.
