At least five former GOP governors have now called for Gary Johnson (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/evan-bayhs-new-ad-i-am-not-a-lobbyist/article/2601721) to be included in the debates. These governors include Marc Racicot (Montana), Mitch Daniels (Indiana), Jesse Ventura (Minnesota), Mitt Romney, and The Governator himself, Ahhhnold Schwarzenegger.

"I have not made up my mind about who I will vote for or if I will vote. I certainly will not vote for Trump or Clinton," Racicot said in a statement shared by the Johnson campaign. "I would like to hear from Gary Johnson before I make my final decision. Before I decide if I am voting or not, which would be a sad state of affairs."
Racicot joins a growing list of former Republican governors urging Johnson to be added to the debate stage, including 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/romney-i-hope-we-get-to-see-libertarian-candidates-on-the-debate-stage/article/2601207) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/295200-schwarzenegger-put-gary-johnson-weld-in-debates). Former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, who is hosting (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/pence-emphasizes-gop-support-as-predecessor-meets-with-libertarian/article/2601663) Johnson at Purdue University on Tuesday, has also reportedly called for Johnson's addition to the debate stage.

All Johnson needs to do is qualify according to the criteria everyone else has to meet. Libertarians cannot claim to be the exception to the rule. Poll high enough and be included. Johnson needs to pray he is never included because he has done nothing but shoot himself in the foot during this whole election season.

"Everyone else" received at least 1,000 minutes of prime-time network news coverage, while the networks gave Johnson eleven seconds of nightly newscast coverage (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/sep/6/gary-johnson-receives-little-coverage-from-news-ne/). That's right. Eleven seconds. There's no way someone could poll high enough with 0:11 in nightly coverage for the whole election.

Trump received 1,773 minutes. Clinton received 1,023 minutes. The broadcast network blackout is complete, and is why a third party cannot reach 15% in polling.

I think they should lower it to 10%. Not for Gary, but permanently.

A candidate polling 10% represents what 15 million or so voters?

That is a voice than needs to be heard in debates.

That seems reasonable to me . What , 10 million voters is about equivalent to 20 million population ?

"Former" governors. That's about as relevant in my eyes as former first ladies.

But if the LP wants to embarrass itself more by putting Gary "Aleppo?!" Johnson on the podium, and that may be precisely their goal here, then I say go right ahead. I'm sure the entertainment value would be enough to justify the move.

Rule changes should never be made when the change effects an immediate outcome. If this change were a good idea it should have been considered and instituted at a time that a debate was not in the immediate future.

Of course. But the CPD was formed by the GOP and the DNC to prevent there from ever being a third choice. That's why the bar was set so high.

Oh put a sock in it. The only people making a stink about that are the one's who don't want Gary to win.
