My spies tell me that The Blaze is desperately seeking a cash injection to stay afloat, and that if it doesn't get investment in the next couple of weeks it's all over. The company was looking at a DIP loan last week, which is only ever used in cases of significant financial distress, when other options are exhausted. I can't imagine who'd buy the company now, especially since all the big editorial talents are gone. Last significant person to jump ship was Jason Howerton, whom I rate highly and who was, I am told, almost single-handedly responsible for the success of the written content on the site. What is left, at this point, to acquire?

That’s why Beck is mad —I’m the only one talking openly about the rumors dogging his failing empire, because I have balls — and better sources (and hair) than any of his dire, fulminating hosts. Whom nobody watches.

A few years back, I used to see articles from the blaze on yahoo.com front page. But since the election started, I haven't been seeing much of him in the front page. Its actually something I have been thinking about even before you posted it. Funny thing is that now I see more dailybeast and breitbart articles on yahoo.com front page. Glenn Beck’s website The Blaze is coming apart, suffering from a lack of editorial direction, staff attrition and internal discord, according to sources inside the news outlet.

The site, which Beck launched in 2010 to serve as the conservative counterpart to The Huffington Post, has dropped from 25 employees on its editorial side to just six. A source inside The Blaze, who requested anonymity for fear of retribution, told HuffPost that the mood among the rapidly diminishing news team is somber.

“The few people who are still left are looking for an exit because they know The Blaze is over,” the source said. “They haven’t told us straight up that they’re done with us, but all the signs point to it, and they’re not replacing people who are laid off or get out.

In conversations with more than half a dozen former and current employees of The Blaze, all blamed upper-level management for the site’s troubles. There have been four CEOs since 2010, and two of them left in a span of six months in 2015. Beck is currently embroiled in a lawsuit with one of those former CEOs, whom he has accused of fraud and mismanagement.

“We had everything when we started in 2010 ― a huge platform and following ― but management screwed it up with their incompetence,” one source told HuffPost. “They made so many stupid mistakes, and Glenn trusts the wrong people, who then go and hire other bad people.”

While current and former employees said the website is on its last legs, The Blaze’s management says that they’re working on a relaunch called “Project Phoenix, Blaze 2.0.” The site recently hired former Red State Editor-in-Chief Leon Wolf as the new managing editor. And in an email sent to staff in late September, CEO Stewart Padveen heralded the coming of a new era.

The first lady's remarks last week denouncing Donald Trump's comments about women is drawing praise across the political spectrum, and is being hailed as a pivotal event in the contest between Trump and Hillary Clinton.,

Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck, a Trump critic, described Mrs. Obama's remarks as "the most effective political speech I have heard since Ronald Reagan."

During a Clinton rally in New Hampshire on Thursday, Mrs. Obama denounced Trump over a 2005 videotape in which the Republican nominee can be heard making lewd comments about groping women.

"This is disgraceful," the first lady said. "It is intolerable. And it doesn't matter what party you belong to -- Democrat, Republican, independent -- no woman deserves to be treated this way. None of us deserves this kind of abuse."

Paul Begala, a former aide to President Bill Clinton, told CNN's State of the Union on Sunday that Michelle Obama's speech will be remembered long after the votes are counted, especially if Hillary Clinton becomes the nation's first woman president.

"Michelle Obama's speech will be one of the things people study 100 years from now," Begala said. "It was that powerful."
