According to The Hill (http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/293543-gary-johnson-spending-1m-on-battleground-state-ad-push):

Johnson will spend $806,195 on radio ads in Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Wisconsin, Politico reported (http://www.politico.com/story/2016/08/gary-johnson-ads-battleground-states-227459) Friday. In one ad, Johnson argues that a Democratic or Republican president would bring the nation into war and deeper debt in four years.
In another, Johnson portrays himself as a viable option to those who don't want to back Democrat Hillary Clinton (http://thehill.com/people/hillary-clinton) or Republican Donald Trump (http://thehill.com/people/donald-trump).
Johnson hopes more exposure will push him to at least 15 percent support in the polls, the requirement to participate in presidential debates.

These state-targeted ads are smart, IMO. They give Gary a better chance to reach voters in states where he's already doing pretty well: Colorado, New Hampshire, Iowa, New Mexico, Utah and Wisconsin have all had polls with him at 16%; if (big if) he can double that number, he will win those states.

People are already reporting hearing the radio ads in the Pacific Northwest.

...In other news, I just saw my first GJ ad on CNN. It's been 24 years since I saw a third-party candidate's commercials on TV, so I was pretty shocked when it happened.

Former Rand Paul Super PAC Makes $1 Million Ad Buy for Libertarian Gary Johnson

“One candidate offends everyone ... the other will say anything to get elected," the narrator begins in this new Purple PAC ad.

After Rand Paul dropped out of the presidential election, the super PAC switched their allegiance to Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson. To help him get to the national debate stage, the group purchased $1 million ad buy nationwide – starting Friday and running until next Thursday.

"We're hoping to generate enough support to get up to 15% in the polls," Purple PAC President Ed Crane told CNN. "If he's in the debate there's no telling what might happen."

Waste of money. Anyone who brings up his name in my presence will hear exactly why he is not a Libertarian.

Yep! And these are the ads I've been seeing on CNN. I'm pretty excited. It's the most money spent for any Libertarian Party candidate, on the highest-polling Libertarian Party POTUS candidate of all time. People are actually talking about the LP in their homes; my two aunts, dad, and cousin are all considering making the switch.
