In trying to figure out how some of the less liked candidates were getting so much money in contributions (i.e. Giuliani getting quite a few donations in excess of $9k each), I ran into this info about PACs (Political Action Commities). I know little if anything about these or whether or not we could even set one up.

So, if you know more about this subject than I do, please enlighten me. It seems like it might be a good way to get alot more money for the campaign.

I don't really know...but aren't PACs just a lobbying type fund? i.e. have 1000 people donate $2,300 = 2.3mm, then you can have all the candidates fellate you and offer you whatever you want in order to get that large chunk of money.

I thought the campaign was looking into one of these. From my knowledge, donations to PACs have no limits or at least have alot higher limits than the normal $2300.

We should ask Bradley... he'll probably know.

Thats how I got the link I posted, but I don't quite get the rules or how it works. I thought there might be someone who would actually understand here. It seems like a method of getting around the 2,300 per person cap on contributions. This would allow people to donate whatever they could, if it works like it seems it works. You would just have to donate to the PAC first then the PAC would donate the money to the campaign. At least thats how it SEEMS to work. If so, maybe we should start a PAC.

Ok. Here is a link to the wikepedia on pacs. It is pretty staright forward.

As noted they can only give a limited amount to a candidate.

Please look at this different form of a PAC.

Campaign contributions are limited to a specific candidate. They are used more to advocate a issue such as free speech or a ideas such as liberties and so on.

Now we need to do all we can to get the most money to RP's campaign of course. He is doing better than a couple of months ago but he needs so much more that it is not even funny. Other candidates have so much now and much more coming that they are going to be inundating the airwaves with their names.

The PAC will only be necessary when we have some big-time contributors.

4 million x $25= $100,000,000. The trick first is to get the people and that is grass root stuff
