That is what happened in Kansas Tuesday night. Congressman Tim Huelskamp, an ardent constitutional conservative, original Tea Partier, and the top enemy of former Speaker John Boehner, was ousted by an challenger backed by the D.C. GOP elite and the powerful Chamber of Commerce.
And guess who was celebrating? The two top pro-Trump propaganda outlets, The Gateway Pundit (http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/08/nevertrump-ks-lawmaker-loses-primary-pro-trump-upstart/) and The Conservative Treehouse (https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2016/08/02/toxic-ted-cruzs-first-victim-early-returns-show-tim-huelskamp-about-to-be-primaried/).
Why would they be celebrating the defeat of Huelskamp? Because he supported Ted Cruz in the primary, and because he was reluctant to endorse Donald Trump afterward.
The Trump Revolution is a not a revolution, but a personality cult. That is why Trump endorsed the absolutely awful GOP establishment and Chamber-backed Rep. Renee Ellmers in North Carolina, because she kissed his ring.
For those of us who are constitutional conservatives, we not only have to continue fighting the GOP establishment, but now their Trump-supporting allies. What a sad state.
