Who would be Ron Paul's Vice President, Cabinet, Staff, and hiries? Presidents hire over 2000 people when they become President.

I've read an interview where Paul mentioned the possibility of Walter Williams or John Stossel as a VP. Although I like both Williams and Stossel, I'm not sure how serious the suggestion was.

I'd be interested in seeing if anyone else has heard VP names mentioned.

Thats a very good question because I dont think that I have seen one other candidate that is worth a crap, not just in the 2008 election, but in my shorth pathetic lifetime. I'll just hope that Dr. Paul knows someone that would be worth while...

I will say this though, I dont think any of the other candidates should be even considered for the position, they should be considered for prison.

No, Obama may have that fake "aura of honesty and good will" but it doesnt change the fact that he's a socialist who will perpetuate the war and our interventionist foreign policy, and continue to support higher taxes, limitations on our freedoms, etc. He is no different than Hillary.

Andrew Napolitano for something. I like him for VP, but with his judicial credentials, he would surely make an awesome AG or Justice of the Supreme Court. Andrew Napolitano is nearly in lock-step with RP's philosophy of law and federal gov't, which is why I like him for VP -- but because he is so deeply in favor of individual liberty, that means he would also make an excellent VP or SC Justice.

I'll say it over and over.

Karen Kwiatkowski for VP

I don't know whether to call this article pessimistic or depressing, but it's certainly true.

We face a modern American state more overweening and dictatorial than even King George III could imagine, yet we have no declaration of independence, no privileged elite to demand it, no interested population to read and debate it. This time, our declaration will be made individually, every day, in calm desperate fearlessness, as we simply live free.

Mark Sanford

I've seriously joked with my husband about being orgasmic at the prospect :D

He said "if Sanford is the VP choice, you'd have to quit your job. You wouldn't be able to NOT be out campaigning constantly" LOL!

Walter Williams is my hero.

Walter Williams is a black conservative. Guest hosts for Rush on occasion. Think he is a college prof as well. Stossel reports for abc I think. I first heard of him when he interviewed Irwin Schiff who knows more about the illegal income tax than anyone. Poor Irwin is now in jail at age 75 for his convictions. Stossel seems to have an open mind as his questions for Irwin were fairminded.

Ron Paul has many close friends and associates one of whom I know who share his views right down the line. They most likely would be unknown to everyone but the doc and would make a great team.

How about John Duncan for VP? He's the only other active Congressman who voted against the Iraq War and is probably only supporting Fred Thompson because he's from TN.

Yes, Gravel should get something: make him ambassador to Norway. He'd love being somewhat immersed in a Socialist state and working for the US at the same time. Not to mention that he's from Alaska, so he'd be used to the weather.

As for the cabinet positions, here's what I can think of:
Secretary of the Treasury - an Austrian school economist, which really narrows it down, especially if he wants to choose someone well-known.
Attorney General - Andrew Napolitano. He belongs here or on the Supreme Court.
Secretary of Veterans' Affairs - I can see him offering this to John McCain. It would get a warmonger out of the Senate.
Federal Reserve Chairman, until it can be done away with - again, another Austrian school economist.

I would like to see Mark Sanford...the Governor of South Carolina. I'm hoping that he comes out and endorses Dr. Paul before the South Carolina primary...we need a BIG endorsement before the South Carolina primary.

A poor choice. We would lose the miltary vote and 90% of conservatives.

What about Alan Keyes for VP? They may not agree on social issues entirely, but everything else seems pretty close.

Hm, is it me or am I not seeing Michael Badnarik in this thread?

EDIT:

As long as we're talking Cabinet positions as well, I think Tucker Carlson should be offered the Press Secretary position if he can clean up his act.

I'm hoping the same thing. I'm glad he hasn't already endorsed McCain like he did previously. I think it's a good sign :)
