Stirred by a string of four miscarriages early in his marriage, Lile—now a father of two—and a partner approached a prominent abortion provider in Pensacola, Fla., and bought him out of his practice.

Along with putting an immediate stop to abortion procedures and referrals at the clinic, Lile and his partner included a clause in the contract: the man who at one time had led the area in abortions had to agree to leave the region if he wanted to keep trafficking in abortion.

See? No law needed If people don't want abortion, they will find a non-forced way.

I am sorry but if the buying out doesn't include their medical licenses, then it wouldn't make a significant difference in the number of abortions done. Now these doctors and nurses are free to just go to a different area with all that money to start a new practice and if they are lucky, someone else would come buy them out again. The market is there because the demand is there, removing one doctor even if its the most popular one would only make a small dent to the problem. Btw, abortion is abortion whether it is done in Florida or Atlanta or Alabama.

If anything, this would incentivize more doctors to start their own abortion practice in the hope someone buys them out

Its going to be as successful as police buying gun owners old guns to reduce gun ownership and just because something is free market doesn't mean it is going to work.

Apples and bowling balls.

This doctor did not use extorted funds to buy the clinic.

Its an analogy, just comparing the success rates of those very flawed programs. I know one has government approval and the other doesn't. Both will still lead to complete failure if it doesn't try to change the hearts and minds of the customers.
