It was the Iowa Independent Power Rankings. Right undeneath in large capital letters it said "THIS IS NOT A SCIENTIFIC POLL"

When they showed the Democrat AP polls they listed 6 candidates all the way to Dodd at 1%. When the GOP AP - 5 candidates down to Thompson at like 12%.

That I was thinking actually. Mike Huckabee being on top could potentially hurt him because it gives supporters less incentive to "take on the odds", as the odds are on their side. I would never believe that they would acknowledge Ron Paul to be 1st whether if it were the case or not, but we must never feel we have the nomination "locked up." We truly are up against the "machine" and need to seriously pour our hearts out to win this thing...

But my first post is in regards to "real" expectations. If we can get a basis on previous assumptions from this organization, which has Dr. Paul in 3rd, I think it could be a viable barometer for true rankings.

I am looking for legitimacy from this group to make a 'real' determination.

I hope someone utubed. The Iowa piece appeared to be Colmes doing. During Hannity's bit, he excluded RP from the AP poll graphic using only 5 down to Thompson at 12%, even though on the Democrat graphic they showed 6 down to Dodd at 1%.

They showed an oversized THIS IS NOT A SCIENTIFIC POLL graphic below the Iowa results. I didn't think this coverage was as good as many here do, but it was something.

I had heard this too - that 80% of Iowa Republicans still think that Bush is doing a good job.

What I later found out, is that it is 80% of Iowa Republicans WHO ANSWERED THE REPUBLICAN PREFERENCE POLL who think this way. This is why the polls show Ron Paul doing poorly - they are polling people who prefer George Bush.

Historically, Rasmussen is the most accurate national polling firm in America. I believe the American Research Group is the most statistically inaccurate.

I wouldn't be surprised at the American Research Group being the most inaccurate. I mentioned a few days ago that nearly every single one of their polls are skewed against Paul, and I say that just in comparison to the other polls during the same time periods, which are all much higher.

Ron Paul -- The more we think about it, the more we conclude that none of the remaining candidates on this list have a strong base of support the way Rep. Paul does. His unlikely coalition of supporters does not include many typical caucus-goers, but they are devoted. And to top it all off, the campaign appears to be fairly well organized here, with paid calls, visibility (television, radio, billboards), and direct outreach efforts. Much about the Paul campaign will remain up in the air until caucus night, but a third place finish would certainly raise some eyebrows heading into New Hampshire.
