Imagine what you would have seen and heard had you been in charge of security for the 2012 Ron Paul presidential campaign. You’d have accumulated some stories, right? Well, imagine no more: today’s guest was himself Ron Paul’s director of security and yes, he has stories.

About the Guest

John Baeza is a retired police detective from the NYPD, where he worked for over 20 years. He was director of security for the 2012 Ron Paul presidential campaign.

I just listened to the podcast today and it brought back some good memories. I was a few feet away when they got glitter bombed. I thought about making a smartass remark to John about the glitter after the fact but figured he might not appreciate it. I didn't know Ron already did LOLz...

John and I are good friends, we had a lot of fun on the campaign trail together.... I met him in Orlando at a liberty summit in 2010 I believe.

When he was first hired no one else on the campaign really knew him. And he looks scary as hell. People would ask me and I would tell them that he's a no nonsense kind of guy, but very nice. After working with him for a few months one of the girls told me that he was the largest teddy bear they had ever met ha ha ha...... ahhh good times

Oh and even Rachel Maddow did a positive segment on John:

I'm not a big fan of listening to podcasts. But you need to hear this one.

The man sounds like a very quality kind of guy,...very entertaining too.

I like Tom Woods and have looked for his views on various topics.

For example, he does a good job of explaining the Supremacy Clause.

Looking forward to hearing this podcast. :)

i met john when i met ron the first time in 2011. he was doing line control for our pics. i told him i thought i was going to pass out cause i finally got to see ron. he just smiled , patted me on the back and said, "youll do fine."

ron also signed a pic we sent him of our new born daughter. she was wearing a "i <3 RON PAUL" onesey, we had custom made. it was meant for ron to keep when i mailed it to him. his office actually called me and told me that ron loved it and said he signed it and is sending it back and wants our daughter to have it when she grows up. such an awesome guy. both of them!!
