Thursday, 12/13/2007, there will be a rally and straw poll in Plymouth, NH. Details can be found here (http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1385/calendar/6869613/)

This is an important straw poll because it can show the nation that NH voters support Ron Paul as their #1 choice for president! Local and possibly national media will be covering the event. We're working on getting a video camera to film the rally and subsequent vote. Come on out and support Ron Paul!

I don't know what scale the straw poll is (does not sound huge), but if some of the organizers are within striking distance maybe it would be good to get people down there.

For one thing, it's NH. Our elections and politics may not be crystal clean, but it's a heck of a lot less corrupt than Ca. :) It comes from having the smallest government in the U.S. Yet ANOTHER reason to vote for Ron! :)

If 300 RP supporters show up bearing signs and regalia, they may attempt to cut the numbers down claiming, "we can only handle so many people and we need to give the other candidates' supporters an opportunity". My advice is to tone down the regalia until after the vote is cast. This way they cannot look at you and engage in voter discrimination.

Yeah, stow the RP signs until the vote, and aim for victory YouTubes like we saw at the Virginia straw poll. I swear, that guy looked sick as he read the votes and confessed that RP was in the lead.

Then the cheers and chanting began!

We must win this overwhelmingly. Then once we win the NH primary, the straw poll victories will be cited as a leading indicator. This will boast our credibility in other states where we dominated straw polls... which is like every state in the nation!

I actually have more confidence in the process in New Hampshire than the other polls that have tried to manipulate the results away from Ron Paul.

New Hampshire folks seem to be decent stewards of their political responsibility.

If it were here in Ron Paul's home state of Texas I'd say ya...be covert...

They'll cover it on the basis that Romney or Huckabee wins it. If Ron Paul wins it, it will be like every other straw poll that Ron Paul wins: not newsworthy.

I was planning on going, and aborted the plan because of the weather. Looking outside, it was a wise move. It was actually one of my meetup group leaders who strongly advised this, and it looks like she was right. I just moved to NH from Los Angeles, so I have zero experience driving in blizzards. :)

Hope the folks local to Plymouth can pull it off. Post here afterwards!

I spoke to the organizer of the Plymouth meetup group about this (when I was intending to attend), and they were planning on having a staffed table so they can talk to people about Ron Paul and educate them, and maybe convert them. I realize this is more important than the fear of shenanigans, since really, the only time bad things have happened at a straw poll as the result of identifying ourselves as Ron Paul supporters is at the straw poll organized by that crazy thompson-loving chick in SF. She's a freak. We haven't had similar problems anywhere else (Florida was a different problem - fraud, not oppression).

Hey everyone,

Even with the snow Ron Paul supporters are coming out! I left early to work on a term paper, but the campaign rep is down there working the table. A local elementary school was running the show with their principal and they had made banners for all the candidates, including Ron.

Hopefully we'll have enough to beat out the other candidates! When I left, NO other candidates had representatives there except Ron Paul. It's still early, so hope for the best. When I get more updates, I'll post it here!
