.”
The head of the organization that hosts the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) says Donald Trump’s decision to skip the confab was “disrespectful” to conservatives.

Matt Schlapp, the chairman of the American Conservative Union, told Bloomberg News in an interview that Trump was absent from CPAC because he didn’t want to face questioning as other presidential candidates do.

“What we will not do, is we will not change these rules just because someone’s doing so well as the front-runner,” Schlapp said.

“If you come to CPAC, you’re going to be treated like the other candidates, and you’re going to have to answer conservatives’ questions

F anybody who thinks that someone should get down on bended knee to them because they're just that important.

Institutional calcification is a disease and CPAC has got a bad case of it.

If you don't have media credentials or a republican party affiliation, a CPAC ticket costs $300

Most of those tickets are bought by various activist groups and distributed to their members.

No, CPAC has a mixed history but since 2010 leans libertarian and young.

Ron Paul won the straw poll in 2010 and 2011. He did not attend in 2012 and instead campaigned in Maine.

Rand Paul won the straw poll in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Neither Ron nor Rand is attending this year (2016).

CPAC is not a good fit for Trump, because it is a forum devoted to ideas, and Trump doesn't have any ideas, except the idea that he should be in charge.

Trump didn't want to submit to a question-and-answer session like the other candidates. He knew that his tried and true methodology of endlessly repeated simple messages in a third-grade vocabulary wouldn't play well with the audience there.

It should be noted that about 99% of CPAC speakers have been big supporters of the biggest blunder in US history (Iraqi Freedom) that led to Obama Presidency and now will lead to Trump Presidency.

Small gov this, small gov that.
