Yeah, I dig it. He probably also saw the convoy group that greeted Ron Paul at the airport and escorted him to his house.

Full story on that here: http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/017499.html

The guy that Ron Paul was talking to about wine on the plane...it would have been funny if toward the end of the flight he said to the guy: "And oh by the way, I'm running for President". I bet he was too humble though, HEH!

I am somewhat wishing Ron Paul never walked into my life. Apathetic ignorance is much more STRESS-FREE.

Ha! I love this quote and have had moments where I feel the same way!

Oh, and nice article. :-)

My Dad just called me and reminded his only son that I am a "shitass" for telling him about Ron Paul :D

Its becoming a daily ritual now. He calls to ask about Ron Paul, tells me how the country has changed since he was a kid, then usually ends with a "If Ron Paul isn't elected, this country is in dire trouble" or a "Damn you for telling me about this man!"

Y'know what is even more amazing?
If it was any of us on that plane....we'd have Ron Paul T shirts/hats and maybe even giving out slimjims or talking to people on the plane.

Ron Paul himself doesn't even tell the guy next to him that he, himself, is running for President of the United States.

If I was running, I would be tooting my own horn every chance I got! RP is too cool.

Y'know....Ron Paul must be beside himself right now. For 30 years, he's been beating his head against the wall trying to change things. And now he's got people escorting him around. I betchya he feels his life and constant struggle has been vindicated.

Loneliness of the long-distance Ron Paul

It may seem sometimes that running for president is all about corporate jets, Secret Service protection and a fawning entourage. Not for Ron Paul, the libertarian anti-war outsider generating some fervent support and impressive fundraising totals. There he was at Washington Reagan airport last night lugging his bags onto the same Continental Airlines flight to Houston as me. On his own. Not an aide in sight.

Campaigning incognito: Ron Paul (centre) boards his plane in Washington

Once on the plane, no one seemed to notice who he was and he chatted amiably (he was sitting behind me) to the man next to him about the weather and the quality of the red wine. As we got off in Houston – he was there to spend 24 hours at home – I asked him about Mitt Romney’s address about his faith at College Station, Texas, which was where I was headed. He seemed only faintly aware it was happening. “Useless politicking!” he exclaimed. “Mormons against radical Baptists. Bah!”
