Both cybersecurity and customer service at the Internal Revenue Service have suffered because of Obamacare, the agency's head said in remarks to Congress on Thursday.

"Congress, as I noted in my testimony, has underfunded … the Affordable Care Act," IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told a panel of the House Appropriations Committee. "That does not remove the statutory mandate we have that we have to implement the act."

Koskinen delivered his remarks in response to a question from Chairman Rep. Hal Rogers, R-Ky., who pointed out that Congress had "increased funding specifically for taxpayer services" in 2014 and 2016.

Koskinen said it didn't matter where Congress intended the money to go, explaining the agency had pulled funding for customer service and cybersecurity in order to ensure compliance with the ACA.

How about we abolish the IRS and Obamacare? Problems solved.

One would think that of all the agencies, the IRS would be self-funding.

The department needs $11 BILLION dollars to run?

If you charged each company $1000 to file, you would be half way there.

But that's an insane overhead.

Uh, how exactly did you file? Did you notice the option to get exemption >> "unaffordable health care " . This option is there and it allowed me to bypass the bullshit fine

...Or just reduce those six-figured salaries for the tens-of-thousands of utterly useless desk-thumping carbon-copies to five-figures, at least to start.

It's not that bad when you consider that it represents only 0.36% of the total revenue collected.

The IRS is one of the few government programs that make money. Unfortunately, it's incredibly inefficient, has many incompetent and unethical (e.g., Lois Lerner) personnel, and its computer system is about 20 years behind. But the idiots in Congress believe that cutting the IRS's budget is the solution to all of its problems.

It is really is "that bad", as the United States has no legitimate and lawful purpose for acquiescing several trillion dollars each year from Americans, like taking a mallet and repeatedly smashing yourself in the head until your death.

And please stop it, the IRS has had years adjust to ACA requirements, the IRS outputs dozens upon dozens of changes each day throughout the tax season. Complaining about a lack of funding is Fed-BS-101 and it is pathetic. And Hillary Clinton infamously said "What difference – at this point, what difference does it make!" These aren't leaders, they are scam artists encroaching on public offices.

So, forcefully stealing money is called making money?

Also, I think the Mafia calls it "protection".
