Ron Paul Supporters to Rally at Hy Vee Hall Saturday

Ron Paul Republicans for Iowa will begin registering new Republicans as Ron Paul supporters and voters at a rally on Saturday, June 30 at 4;30 p.m at Hy Vee Hall, 730 Third Street, Des Moines. The rally is timed to coincide with the Iowans for Tax Relief / Iowa Christian Alliance Presidential Forum from which Ron Paul has been excluded, according to Ben Olson, Pocahontas, interim chairman of Ron Paul Republicans for Iowa.

“I’m a new member of the Republican Party and joined because of Ron Paul," said Olson. "We need to return the Republican Party to its roots and give Iowa's nomination to a man of impeccable honor and proven dedication to our Constitution.”

Olson, a lifelong Iowan and farmer, went on to say, “Congressman Ron Paul is the best friend of America's taxpayers. And Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate who speaks for peace. He will bring our troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Car pools will be available to the June 30 Ron Paul rally. Those interested in joining and working for Paul should contact Christy Welty at 641-472-4426 or by e-mail at ispiritkin@yahoo.com. Welty, a Fairfield town councilwoman, has accepted the position of coordinator for the effort. A long-time resident of Iowa, Ms. Welty homeschools
her two children and has admired Dr. Paul for many years.

Ron Paul Republicans will provide coordination for the ongoing voter registration drive. At the same time the organization will work to build an understanding of the original American vision for small government, low taxes, and the inherent nature of our individual rights. The group is being organized entirely from the grass roots, working to show how the people can do it themselves and keep the power at the most local level.
