Four Democratic Senators flip flopped when they voted NO on S. 2232, the Audit the Fed bill, on January 12.
In 2012, Senators Joe Donnelly (IN), Martin Heinrich (NM), and Chris Murphy (CT) voted for H.R. 459 (roll call vote (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2012/roll513.xml)). Three and a half years later, they voted no on S. 2232. Both bills are virtually identical.
In 2015, Senator Mazie Hirono (HI) was an original cosponsor of S. 264 (bill (https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/senate-bill/264/cosponsors?pageSort=alpha)). She even provided a statement of why she cosponsored Audit the Fed to her local paper (source (http://www.civilbeat.com/2015/02/audit-the-fed-hirono-likes-the-idea/)). She also supported H.R. 459 in 2012. She was absent for the vote but submitted remarks into the Congressional Record announcing her support for the bill (source (https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CREC-2012-07-25/pdf/CREC-2012-07-25-pt1-PgE1333.pdf)). Both S. 264 and H.R. 459 are virtually identical to S. 2232.
If you live in Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, or New Mexico, please contact your Senator's office and demand a response as to why they flip flopped on their support for Audit the Fed within less than four years.
It should be noted that Senator Tammy Baldwin (WI) was the only Democratic Senator who was consistent and voted for H.R. 459 and S. 2232.
