The August Ames Straw Poll in Iowa had the following results with Ron Paul polling < 1% in Iowa in August:

1 Mitt Romney 4,516 31.6%
2 Mike Huckabee 2,587 18.1%
3 Sam Brownback 2,192 15.3%
4 Tom Tancredo 1,961 13.7%
5 Ron Paul 1,305 9.1%
6 Tommy Thompson 1,039 7.3%
7 Fred Thompson 203 1.4%
8 Rudy Giuliani 183 1.3%
9 Duncan Hunter 174 1.2%
10 John McCain 101 0.7%
11 John H. Cox 41 0.3%

Now he has 5%. Since almost ALL RP supporters will show up to the Iowa Caucus and a much smaller percentage of the other candidates. The MSM predicts less than 80,000 total caucus voters on Iowa 3.

THIS WILL SHOCK THE WORLD! He will then WIN in NH, SC, and so on....

hey, I hope we win too, but what we really need is a NH win. We dont even need to win Iowa. A third place finish in Iowa is what we should be aiming for.

It's good to be enthusiastic but let's not be delusional. Paul still has an uphill battle and he needs our support and efforts to spread the message. Saying it like he's got Iowa locked up makes it sound like we don't need to do anything else.

We need to get busy to stand a chance in Iowa, Iowa is very Democrat and very Huckster.

So call them. Write them. Donate to http://www.ronpauldvdbomb.com/ etc. Just do something, don't downplay Iowa, you can bet your bottom dollar that the media won't. 3rd in Iowa will sting....so do something about it.

Yep, 3rd or better in Iowa is all we need. A 3rd place entry will end the MSM blackout and launch Ron Paul to the stars.

RP should be more vocal about free trade in Iowa. Iowa is the breadbasket of the world and the value of exports far exceeds Govt subsidies.

Iowa is a huge free trade state, while NH tends to be more protectionist (Pat Buchanan won in 2000)

Aim for third, and we might fall short.

Aim for first, and we will get third.

Democrat yes.. Huckster no. I wouldn't really sweat over his recent media adoration. .. His going to get hit very hard with the Durmond case. People are just finding out about his horrible record. His numbers will drop like a wet sack of potatoes.

it is kind of interesting that 1% in polling turned into 9% in the straw poll.
