I'd vote, but to do so, I'd have to enable cookies and about a million scripts, and I refuse to trade my privacy and marketing data for a trivial vote that won't be reported by anyone. My guess is that this is the only reason sites like Fox news and any other major news outlet runs these types of straw polls. They don't give a shit who wins and it's probably one of the few ways to profit off Paul voters who would rather see everyone at Fox News be buried alive in salt than support their shitty network.

But good work to everyone else voting and getting our boy up there.

I should add, when you don't break a link, you give the linked website full access to where you're coming from. In other words, Fox news can see that we're all coming from RonPaulForums.com. In fact, they see the link to this exact thread.

Pardon me while I venture into conspiracy territory, but if I wanted to locate and infiltrate the social networks of my enemies, I would use something like this poll that would be circulated to many users within many communities, and then hire infiltrators to attack the top referrering sites. There are known tactics that can be used to steer the discussion of web forums. By not breaking the link, you're basically saying to Fox news or anyone with the referring data, "The Rand Paul Grassroots lives here. Please come in."

Open incognito or private tab/window on your browser to vote again. Close, and repeat to vote a third time.

Alternately you can clear cookies and cache of browser after voting, but that seems more tedious.

It doesn't though. It shows that unofficial online polls are completely unrealistic representations. It also shows that while we complain about Paul being marginalized, that we will go to great lengths to misrepresent his following. So.....What's the point again?

Sorry, but I vowed (to Greta herself via a thread discussion) that I would rather take my own life with a spork than post (or give traffic to) that site ever again.

I literally considered giving funds to people I know to track down some of those posters, and get me physical addresses. Luckily, self restraint got the best of me. One of them had googled me (I used my real there. That's Doyce Blount, so if your on fedbook, holler) and would log onto an account they named after my dead brother. The fact I served in the Army drove them insane, so much so the main click literally did everything they could to prove I was lying. That site really opened my eyes as to where all the hate for GOP supporters come from. It was right after a couple of Ron Paul supporters from another site had (very patiently....lol) talked back and forth with me, which lead to me understanding individual freedom for the first time in my life.

I'll put it this way, after two days there, I came very close to swearing to vote democrat for the rest of my life. which seemed more righteous, than listen to those hateful mother fuckers. Over the next few months (I toughed it out in '12, playing damage control for Ron Paul), I'll bet I saw dozens of posts from new posters saying that exact thing, that "You people have forced me into registering Democrat, as I'd rather be a foolish liberal than be lumped into such a group of hate.".

I can deal with a dissenting opinion, can have a "heated" discussion with someone without making them my personal internet arch rival, but those people very much embody of what I called "Proof of the uninformed voter", and made me hated by the majority of both parties because when you speak about actual freedom and liberty, it's hard to argue it down. And we all know people love to vote to advance their own personal brand of tyranny. Actual freedom though? That gets you branded as a "Liberal plant, there to divide the conservative voting base.". Words cannot truly describe how adamantly naive many of those posters are, and that trait is only surpassed by a desire to violate any moral they demand of others to facilitate their own personal form of fascist eutopia.

I very much despise that place and community is the major theme I'm trying to convene here.

If these numbers are not mostly organic, the only thing I can figure is that somebody has been secretly passing around a broken link to Rand's Facebook subscribers or Twitter followers, and that would be difficult to pull off this quickly. I think it's more likely that people have been searching Rand's name a bit more due to the fundraiser going on and Ron Paul helping him with promoting it.

Don't forget how many guests visit this forum. I visited this forum for years before I made an account, and I visited it for years before I returned. Every time I saw a poll link, I voted. I know I'm not the only one who does this. Our numbers aren't 2011 good, but they're good.

Justin Amash has said something to the affect that winning elections isn't about issues, but name saturation. This is why winning online polls is important. Road signs. Media mentions. It's all important.

I'm not proud to admit, that I used to go to the polls and check the box for the name that I had heard of before. Jawkowski? Who's that? This is how people vote, and pols know it. I've seen successful campaigns run with no issues page on the website whatsoever.
