At first Huckabee sounded good to me. But I found several highly offensive things against him:
1. Huckabee dipped into his campaign money despite being rich. He did not report this to the proper officials and was fined $1,000 as a result:
"The ethics commission fined Huckabee $1,000 for failing to report that he paid himself $14,000 from his 1992 U.S. Senate campaign and $43,000 from his 1994 lieutenant governor's campaign."

2. Huckabee is a former baptist minister. He advertised in a newspaper that he is a "Christian leader". However, he spent $4 million of his family fortune to upgrade his mansion:
"Mrs. Huckabee is attempting to raise still more money from private sources -- as much as $4 million -- to significantly expand the stately Georgian brick residence."

3. Huckabee was able to recover from a financial responsibility grade of F, and graduated office with a D from the CATO institute. He now has the nickname "Tax Hike Mike". It is very rare for a Republican to get an F on fiscal policy from the CATO institute:

Government spending went up 60% under his term due in part to several tax hikes.

4. Huckabee pushed for a pardon of a person convicted of rape. He wrote to the person in prison: "My desire is that you be released from prison." However, the best he could do is get the person released early. This person left to another state, where he sexually assulted and murdered someone.
