Why won't Obama deliver a speech from behind the Oval Office desk?

The image of a podium in front of the desk looks really awkward. Why won't he give a speech sitting at the desk?

Maybe he was sitting on that seat at the time of "mistaken" deadly US bombing of "Doctors without borders" hospital that burnt to death many Afghan patients including children and he feels too guilty to sit there any more?
Or maybe he hurt his back doing his signature golf acrobatics?
Or maybe upper management has temporarily removed his seat due to poor performance and told him to stand up?

Or could be he just feels more comfortable standing behind a podium?
