According to a recent Pew Research Center study, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul is known on some level by at least 51% of American voters.

The December 5 study asked Americans of all political persuasions various questions regarding the Republican presidential candidates. 21% of all Republicans (and 12% of Democrats) knew that Ron Paul was the only Republican candidate against the Iraq War. To contrast, 90% of Republicans knew that Rudy Giuliani was previously the mayor of New York, 65% knew that John McCain was a former Vietnam POW, and 36% knew that Mike Huckabee was formerly the governor of Arkansas.

When asked about Ron Paul, 5% of the participants stated that they knew "a lot" about him, with 17% stating that they knew "some" about him, 28% stating that they knew "not much," and 49% stating that they knew "nothing at all" about Paul.

We still have work to do...

A lot of work to do.

Blimp + Tea Party will go a long way, though, and Iowa and NH too. Right now we need to make sure 100% of people in Iowa and NH know about him.

There's still a HUGE amount of people we need to reach. Basically, there's 5-22% of people that know enough about him to make a judgment on whether to vote for him or not. Only 21% of Republicans know he is the only Republican against the war.

And look at our polling numbers right now. 8% according to Rasmussen. With such low numbers that actually know much about him. If we can inform the rest of America about his message, imagine his support.

That is why Ron Paul terrifies the establishment. If his message was being heard, he would be CRUSHING the other candidates. We don't have much time, but we should be motivated by these numbers.

That includes the 28% of people who said "Not much," which basically means "I've heard his name but I have no clue what he stands for."

And this is why we need to win in New Hampshire. People will see Paul emerge as a possible upset winner, or at least very much a frontrunner, and they'll find out more about him.

That is more believable.

Thankyou sir!

Imagine how high he would be polling if the number was almost at 100%.

Good that we have a lot of potential growth.

But a bit disconcerting, considering we're running out of time. I hope the campaign is using as much of their money as possible.

8% support, 21% know he's against the war = 40% support if 100% know he's against the war.

8% support, 22% know enough to choose - almost the same 40% support

It's all a matter of getting the message out, folks!

The blimp and Tea Party will get the name recognition, now we have to get the message out!

I think people are aware of ROn Paul by now, most people I ask know his name have seen the signs, they just don't know what he's about since they don't know he's running for president, cause all the revolution signs fail to mention that part.

Some people just think it's a new tv show or something

What a misleading headline. Really, only 5% of people know about Ron Paul. RP is not a "soundbite" candidate. You don't really know him or his positions unless you take a bit of time to learn. So those 28% don't know him at all, really. While this is good given his lower polling numbers, it means we have a lot of work to do... and fast.

Interesting that 21% of Repubs like RP is against the war and we get an 8% polling number. 40% turnover on the war issue is pretty good.

21% of all Republicans (and 12% of Democrats) knew that Ron Paul was the only Republican candidate against the Iraq War.

We should get that number a LOT higher. Maybe it's not as important as reaching out to GOP voters right now though.

I'm starting to learn while most republicans know the racist newletter was debunked, the democrats hold on to that accusation very strong, no matter how much I show them it's debunked they've been RP poisoned
