Using a proxy this is similar to the Soviet empire in Afghanistan.

The region is so rich in resource how can America not behave the way it does. Like with the Middle Eastern stated during the Iranian and Iraqi conflict, no country would be too strong, including Israel.

How about this. mind our own business. Replace fiat with sound money. build a strong economy without artificial booms and busts. Remove all barriers to import and export. Watch as our companies negotiate amazing deals for resources we need, and prices drop.

Yeah how is it not cheaper to just buy the oil? Or to even work with people like Assad or Saddam?

Or is this because of previous actions from OPEC?

Or as a nation are we caught up in a strange combination of interests including Oil, Religion, and Alliances. I guess the Golan Heights on the border of Israel and Syria is very rich with oil.

We want the Oil and Israel as always wants to spread out more settlements.

No, it is just the fact that American society is so dependent on cheap crude to the point where it imports more than it produces.

So the Opec states will have the power, prior to Opec it was the American domestic energy producers who controlled the price of fuel.

You see its hard for a society to voluntary want to change, and make challenging choices, like the Texan republican Roscoe Bartlett, that scientist religious guy that society doesn't want to change without sacrifices.

Sadly, this crisis will be with the Western states for the next century, what society will look like in 2116 is uncertain. I'm sure aircraft travel will be for the super rich only.

C'mon unlimited free solar.

Well that is hopeful, renewable energy like Solar is the future, but it won't run on vehicles. And there is the downside, of the weather depending on where the panels are setup.

No, there is no such a working idea of solar vehicles, certainly no aircraft.

In the end, nature what was left by time, has given us all possibilities for a better reality in theory, but there is only so much of it. I'm sure if beyond the time that American Astronauts to get to the Martian planet, it will only be a sometime after that these energy problems will occur and affect all our lives especially the very young. And that is a position most don't want to deal with, Barack himself hasn't done anything in this area, there is no initiative on this, and who ever succeeds him may very well take that same position.

It will be left to politicians further in the future to try and deal with this crisis of the environment, energy. It is a tremendous task, most politicians aren't forward thinking, it all depends on the individual, some can see further than others.

Roscoe Bartlett was correct about this problem, for a scientist and a practicer of god, he is a very small minority.
