Film Festival Integrates the Entertainment Industry
and the 2008 Presidential Campaign
“Ugly Betty” Producer/Director Hosts an Evening of Hollywood Coming Together with Representatives from the 2008 Presidential Campaigns to Raise Awareness & Money for ‘08 Presidential Candidates

(December 5, 2007) Los Angeles, CA – The DonkaPhant Film Fundraiser was founded by two young actors who see, within their generation and within their communities, complacency in awareness regarding issues and themes that affect everyday life. Through their experiences in the entertainment industry, actors Graham Sibley and Justin Scot founded DonkaPhant in the hope that, through the power of film, they can help raise awareness of political, social and cultural issues that affect us all, especially now that we are on the verge of the upcoming 2008 Presidential Primary Election.

December 10, 2007 marks the last day for an individual to file to run for office in the Presidential Primary Election; January 12, 2008 marks the deadline to register to vote in the 2008 Presidential Primary Election and on February 5, 2008 polls will be open for registered voters to cast their ballot for their vote for the next President of the United States. Jim Hayman, Producer/Director of ABC’s “Ugly Betty” will host the event in an effort to help raise awareness and money for, “the right guy or gal that will lead us into the next 4 to 8 years,” Scot says.

Representatives from the 2008 Presidential campaigns, along with Hollywood film directors, actors, producers of films and television shows will come together on Monday, December 10, 2007 for an exciting evening of thought-provoking, short film screenings. All guests must purchase an entrance ticket. Attendees will “vote” for their favorite candidate of the 2008 Presidential campaign by donating money at the event. The money will go directly to their favorite candidate of the 2008 Presidential campaign.

Scot and Sibley have assembled a strong slate of 8 thought-provoking, short films with political, social and or cultural themes. The films will be screened at CineSpace, at 7:30pm, Monday, December 10, 2007. CineSpace is located at 6356 Hollywood Blvd. 90028, at the intersection of Ivar.

“We are gathering amazing support from a number of the Presidential hopefuls. DonkaPhant is a non-partisan event, everyone attending will have the same opportunity to voice their opinion. It is amazing to be in the middle of helping open people’s minds to the fact that their hopes and dreams for the future are in their hands now. Voicing opinion, regardless of who you are and being actively involved in the voting process for the next leader of the free world is something everyone needs to know that they have a part in,” Sibley says.
