JONES DEMANDS ANSWERS ON PENTAGON’S SHELTERING OF AFGHAN CHILD RAPISTS

“The Pentagon’s abetting of pedophilia is as sickening as it is illegal. America has always been a beacon of decency, but if our military leaders abide by a policy of turning a blind eye towards the rape of young boys on base in Afghanistan, they are surrendering our moral authority.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) is demanding answers regarding the Pentagon’s policy of permitting homosexual Afghan men to rape young boys on U.S. military bases, and taking punitive action against U.S. service members who try to stop the rapists. The policy has come into focus in recent days after a series of high profile press reports. In response, yesterday, Congressman Jones (NC-3) sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Ash Carter asking that he decline a U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) recommendation to remove Major Jason Brezler from service after Major Brezler sent a warning to his commanding officers about a dangerous Afghan police chief, Sarwar Jan, who was working with American Marines and known for sexually abusing young boys. His commanding officers did not heed the warning, and two weeks after it was sent, one of Jan’s young boys murdered three Marines. The Marine Corps maintains that the information Major Brezler sent about the Afghan police chief to his commanding officers was classified, and is seeking to remove him from service.

In a separate letter to House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry sent earlier this week, Congressman Jones asked for oversight hearings on the Pentagon’s abetting of child rape on U.S. military installations in Afghanistan. Congressman Jones is a senior member of the committee.

“The Pentagon’s abetting of pedophilia is as sickening as it is illegal. America has always been a beacon of decency, but if our military leaders abide by a policy of turning a blind eye towards the rape of young boys on a U.S. military base in Afghanistan, they are surrendering our moral authority,” said Congressman Jones. “Major Brezler is a hero, and the Marine Corps leadership should stand by him instead of throwing him under the bus.”
