I'm dropping in a $20 right now.

After some of the controversy over the blimp project, it made me think about something though.

For instance, I think those who organize these ChipIn projects via Paypal should maybe declare what they will do if they don't meet their goal. Trying to refund the Paypal donations isn't very practical, at least in my understanding.

I guess I think you should buy whatever size of ad you can raise money for and let people know what you will do with the remainder, either a small ad in another gun mag or maybe giving the balance to something like the Vijay's CountFive project for NH volunteer housing or buying some extra ad space on the blimp project. This would also apply is you happen to raise more money than you asked for which can also happen.

Anyway, bump to this fine effort. Ron Paul has an excellent record on the Second, termed "immaculate" by Gunowners Of America. GOA members know him and love him and they certainly vote and donate to the strongest gun rights candidates.

Well, whatever. I just think people should have some idea of what is planned with the money if they don't make their goal.

Certainly, this should be posted at all the RKBA forums. Gun folk will support their own and Ron Paul is known for his very strong positions. Of course, it should be posted here as well. But this simply isn't quite as strong a gun forum as the forums that are only about guns.

I'm confident we can do this. If we do somehow fall short, I hope we can run a half-page or 2/3 page ad instead.

Great work. That Linda is a godsend for our grassroots. She does such great work, very polished.

I don't think some people who don't know gun folk, especially rural ones, really well understand how much people pour over these Shotgun News issues. They're like a weekly newspaper, kept in the bathroom, at the workshop, well, everywhere.

This ad is a great success in appealing to RKBA people, especially in rural southern and midwestern and mountain states.

If the target is met now, shouldn't the ChipIn be taken down from the forum's front page? I wish they had a Recently Completed Fundraisers list on the main forum page so people could see our successes though.

Many other worthy grassroots projects could use that front page exposure to complete their funding, Vijay's effort to house 1,000 volunteers in NH among others.

I been working on my g/f's father who is an ex statie and big on gun rights and a huge hunter.

But for some reason has been considering himself a Julie-Annie supporter?!

BLEH.

Anyway I've been using the 2nd ammendment argument to really try and sway him, and I'll be sending this ad to him in e-mail as well.

I think they are still working on getting the files up. Many people are probably anxiously waiting as it's a really well done design. We plan to direct mail all the NRA-donating registered Repubs. in my county with this.

Maybe with a link to www.gunowners.org added for good measure ;).
