Hillary Clinton pledged behind closed doors on Thursday to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth in her long-awaited testimony to the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

A spokesman for the Benghazi committee told The Daily Caller that chairman Trey Gowdy  gave Clinton the option of taking the oath privately.

“Chairman Gowdy offered to swear her in, in private, because this is not about politics, it’s about the four brave Americans we lost,” the spokesman said.
