Why I Won’t Be Attending the 603 Alliance Caucus
Kristin Hellings Noble·Thursday, October 15, 2015

It’s no secret that New Hampshire has trouble electing real Constitutional conservatives to higher office. Frustrated for years by the problem of splitting the vote amongst too many candidates, thus allowing the status-quo candidate to rise to the top, the 603 Alliance was created.

I attended their summit in April. After hearing the very first speaker, I began to wonder how serious the organizers were about staying neutral throughout this process. It seemed as though they had already chosen the candidate. As the day went on it became very clear that this was a vehicle for the Ted Cruz campaign.

Many of the speakers professed their admiration for Ted Cruz. Betsy McCaughey: “I’d like to pay special tribute to someone who isn’t here today, Senator Ted Cruz. That’s right, he’s our boy.” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptOWtvD_VIg)

Jessica Vaughan: “There’s only one candidate I can think of who is for robust immigration enforcement and has made it very clear, and that is Ted Cruz.” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OeA71XPqgI)

Trevor Loudon spent the most time talking about Cruz: “...if you have a candidate with a proven record of sticking it to the establishment and putting up his fists for the Constitution, a man like Ted Cruz for instance, things could be very different.” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymmcQrWQT2c)

Loudon went on to explain what he thinks Ted Cruz should do naming suggestions for his entire administration.

There is no problem with someone expressing support for their candidate. But, when it’s done at an event where the organization is supposed to remain unbiased until after the caucus, the integrity of the caucus is compromised, leaving many of us asking ourselves if we’d just attended a Ted Cruz event.

Weeks later when I came across this National Journal article I saw confirmation that this was the Cruz campaign strategy (http://www.nationaljournal.com/magazine/2015/06/05/Inside-Secret-Meeting-Where-Ted-Cruz-Trounced-His-Rivals). Surprise, Surprise.

Another issue that raised eyebrows is the Conservative Business League of NH. This is described as the sister organization and the primary funder of the 603 Alliance. At the April summit they were proud to announce that since this is a business, they do not need to do any campaign reporting of their donations or spending (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K28-wzG0lPs). So if the CBL-NH is funding the 603 Alliance, who is funding the CBL-NH? Not for us to know, I guess. Sound a little sketchy?

We were also told at the summit that there would be a committee that would rank the candidates based on the criteria of their organization, and that they would host events for those candidates (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K28-wzG0lPs). As far as I know, the 603 Alliance has only ever hosted an event for Ted Cruz. 603 Alliance organizer Fran Wendelboe showed just how neutral she ISN’T by saying the Paul campaign was running on fumes in this HuffPo article (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/rand-paul-campaign-snapchat_560ee41fe4b0768127020888).

She should know that this couldn’t be further from the truth. Probably a mistake to bash a campaign that you would like to participate in your caucus.

There have been articles saying that there’s a fight for the libertarian base and that Ron Paul supporters are going for Ted Cruz. Listen up my friends. If someone suddenly decides that increased military spending without offsets is no big deal, or if trying to hide their support for 400 billion in spending behind a banner of defunding Planned Parenthood is CONSERVATIVE, or putting a band-aid on the violation of our 4th amendment right to privacy is LIBERTY; they were NEVER a real Ron Paul supporter. It’s clear that this handful of alleged supporters of Ron Paul never really understood what he was saying.

For years now I’ve listened to people talk of restoring our Constitution, as they lined up behind candidates like Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich. We Liberty activists want someone who will defend the Constitution and the ENTIRE Bill of Rights. Not just the 1st, 2nd, 9th, and 10th. If many of you truly supported Liberty and the Constitution, there would be absolutely no need for a 603 Alliance.

I think the point of the thread was that it would have been a waste of time.

If that's the case, OK! Now we'll be seeing Cruz's straw poll win be covered 24/7 by the LSM! :D:rolleyes:

Please see a new post on this.

They are now spinning it as if it were a significant caucus and that everyone will unite behind Cruz because of it.

I don't know ONE person here in NH that will change his or her vote because of this private Cruz rally.

Most candidate boycotted this because they knew it was a Cruz set up.
