Massie's ability to make the intricacies of congressional rules easy to understand is one of the best things I like about him. I hope he never stops doing this.

GOP REP MASSIE: PRESSURE FROM CONSTITUENTS MADE BOEHNER QUITTING ‘ALMOST INEVITABLE’

Representative Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) said that the resignation of House Speaker Representative Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) “was almost inevitable, given the pressure that the American people have put on Washington, DC” on Friday’s “Sean Hannity Show.”

Massie said, “I want to thank you, this would not have happened without the pressure that you put on, and then the constituents back in the districts going to town halls and telling their congressmen, ‘Speaker Boehner has got to.’ And so, that — you’ve been instrumental in helping us. We’re here on the inside fighting. You know, we introduced a motion to vacate the chair at the end of July, so that this would be at the forefront of the town halls, and when people came back from their town halls at the end of August, came back to Washington, DC, the lack of support for the speaker was palpable. This was almost inevitable, given the pressure that the American people have put on Washington, DC.”

Massie added it would be a “terrible mistake” to simply push everyone in leadership up one slot.
