It doesn't matter if your son or daughter brings a real pot leaf to school, or if he brings something that looks like a pot leaf -- okra (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2014/10/06/heavily-armed-drug-cops-raid-retirees-garden-seize-okra-plants/), tomato (http://gothamist.com/2013/05/09/cops_come_when_brooklyn_tomato_plan.php), maple (http://www.norwichbulletin.com/article/20141005/News/141009754), buckeye (http://www.wptv.com/news/local-news/water-cooler/marijuana-vs-ohio-state-buckeyes-leaf-jonas-boggionis-pulled-over-after-decal-confused-for-pot), etc. If your kid calls it marijuana as a joke, or if another kid thinks it might be marijuana, that's grounds for expulsion.

lol

Its been a few decades... but I was the one that distributed several hundred baggies of oregano around school grounds for a senior prank.

The problem here isn't Obama or race or drugs or whatever- the problem is the public school system. Government should NOT be involved in schools.

That's only part of the problem......

The other part is idiots believing propaganda.

Yes. But the reason Obama invited the clock kid to the WH is lost on those who are race-obsessed. I think Obama just wanted to recognize the young man's ability, because the school didn't, put him through an ordeal instead.

The 14 year old that built a nuclear reactor was invited to DHS. ;)

While I agree for the most part about government not being involved; its not the root cause. The root cause is our society. There is no evidence that this same thing wouldn't have happened at a private school.

Depends on the school. The public school system was put in place to make compliant factory workers for the elite. It has been a major success.

I am just as much against the white culturists as you but Obama is the reverse. I really do not believe Obama would have invited the wronged kid to the WH if he was white or for that matter any other color except black.

Exactly, it can happen at all kinds of schools. Because the problem are the people their values and expectations. I'm sure insurance company policies have something to do with it as well.

Actually most problems with private schools lie in the fact of whether they have decided to become accredited through the state. This still keeps them in the government fist.
