Even if he were a trillionaire, he'd only be able to donate $2700 per candidate per election.

Have you heard about PACs ?

I know a bit about him. Alex Jones actually interviewed him recently, he said he's a big fan of Ron Paul, and likes Rand too. He was very critical of the police state and the wars. His heart seems to be very much in the right place.

Heavin's political donations in Texas are rather baffling though. I'm not sure what he's thinking sometimes, on AJ he said he's tried to be a good influence on some politicians with his donations but has given up more lately. If only he bothered to give money to the actual good ones he wouldn't be so disappointed I think.

He could be a big help, maybe someone in the movement needs to reach out to him personally.

There is already a thread posted by Danke with this interview - http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?474862-The-Alex-Jones-Show-Tuesday-May-12-2015-Gary-Heavin-Mike-Norris I replied there a month ago. I am not sure what happened to the movie they were talking about - AmeriGeddon. It does not even have a web site and not much info is available. Why are they laying so low ?

Have you heard about PACs ?

So if I was crazy rich, I could start my own PAC & donate as much money into it as I wanted?
What's involved...do I just need to fill out a form or something?

If you were crazy rich you wouldn't even need to set up a PAC if you didn't want to, you could just do an independent expenditure (http://www.fec.gov/pages/brochures/citizens.shtml#ie), and submit the paper work if it was a specific thing you wanted to do for example the ad Larry Lepard (http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/one-ron-paul-supporter-foots-bill-for-full-page-ad-in-usa-today--hopes-well-timed-and-well-placed-ad-will-wake-america-up-59877472.html) put out for Ron in 2007. Or if you wanted to go the PAC route I believe it's as simple as spending $100 and filling out the initial forms (although I'd have to verify I think PACs may have limits on donations (http://www.fec.gov/pages/brochures/contrib.shtml#Contribution_Limits)) but probably not donations taken in for a PAC. After that you do have to account for every dollar and submit reports regularly, but for one person an 'individual expenditure' may be a better route.

That's "directly" to a campaign. He can start his own PAC and/or donate to another pro Rand PAC - no limit.

Yes but not sure how to go about creating your very own PAC. I do think one of the PAC rules is that a PAC cannot collude with a campaign.

"Rand's missed his opportunity," said Gary Heavin, a Texas billionaire who accompanied Paul on a three-day humanitarian mission to Haiti over the summer.

"I wanted to support him because he's the real deal, but his strategy is just awful," continued Heavin, the founder of the health club franchise Curves. "He is going to be a very, very effective senator."

Specifically, Heavin said Paul went after rival Donald Trump so aggressively that he alienated anti-establishment voters who might have supported him.

Sounds more like media narrative bullshit. Kill the link and quote the entire article next time. I clicked on it thinking that there were going to be more quotes on Gary Heavin but just like these hit pieces, they led you to believe there were going to be more good quotes but there weren't.

Those quotes doesn't mean he won't donate. I guarantee you if he gave anymore good quotes, they would've used it.

So Gary thinks Rand went too hard against Trump.
Others feel Rand isn't going hard enough.

Others think Rand is doing just right.

Are we playing Goldilocks and the Three Bears?

Hey Gary - if you think Rand is the right guy, strategy be damned, support him you coward! Of all the reasons to not support someone, "strategy is awful" just isn't one. Especially when all the other choices are just so, opposite.

A coward? It's his money to do with whatever he wants to. If he doesn't think Rand has a good campaign strategy, and therefore is shooting himself in his own foot, maybe he doesn't want to dump money down what he perceives as a rat hole.

3 months after flying Rand on his own jet to Haiti ? He sure changes his mind pretty quickly. It seems like it was publicity stunt for him and Rand was taken for a ride(pun intended)

Granted, coward isn't the right word. And of course it's his money.

Every campaign makes strategic mistakes. Rand is the only guy saying the things he's saying. For people like Gary, his choice is to use his money to help the cause, or sit on the sidelines and watch the country burn under some big government president.

Thanks for nothing, Gary.

If he instead is a guy who gives to somebody every election season, and he doesn't give to Rand - more's to blame.

Gary was interviewed by George Noory 2? months ago. Things I remember from the interview:

He become very, very rich from developing and selling his fitness clubs, Curves.
He feeds 10,000 Haitian people a day.
He was complimentary of Rand but said to Rand while on a humanitarian trip to Haiti that his presidential strategy "sucks".
