She may be better than McCain, but she is a politician's politician.... If I have to listen to her "BFF" Speech one more time, I'm going to suck-start my pistol. She has many unknowns but listening to her speak, she seems like a snake and just another greasy deal-making politician. She REALLY rubs me the wrong way when she speaks.

It's either Kelli Ward or Ann Kirkpatrick, probably better Ward

getting McCain out is reward enough even if she is another Flake

Retire John McCain!

Kelli Ward beating McCain in new poll (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?480819-Kelli-Ward-beating-McCain-in-new-poll)

I had to try to find some more recent polls, because the "new" poll noted was the one mentioned in Breitbart last August. There's really a dearth of recent polling data comparing the two candidates. The lastest I could find was one from January of this year (http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/azdc/2016/02/13/kelli-ward-burning-through-arizona-senate-campaign-cash/80314082/) (excerpt is two thirds the way down the page ... and it's a low-sampling poll, and 39% are undecided):

A telephone poll of 221 Republican voters conducted in January by Phoenix-based Behavior Research Center found McCain leading Ward 47 percent to 11 percent, but 39 percent remained undecided. Three other GOP primary candidates -- Alex Meluskey, David Pizer and Clair Van Steenwyk -- each had 1 percent support. The survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 6.7 percentage points.

The same statewide poll found McCain in a close race with U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, the expected Democratic nominee in the Senate race. It showed McCain at 38 percent and Kirkpatrick at 37 percent, with 25 percent undecided.

That full sample of 590 registered voters had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.

Dr. Ron Paul endorses Dr. Kelli Ward:
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/06/06/ron-paul-endorses-kelli-ward-to-replace-senator-john-mccain/

"As a physician, you have seen first*hand how ObamaCare has reduced our liberties in just a few short years. During your time as state senator, you have fought to reduce the size of government and restore the liberties of Arizonans. We need to elect more people into the U.S. Senate to stand alongside my son, Rand Paul. Because of your dedication to smaller government and restoring more of our personal liberties, I am proud to endorse your campaign for the U.S. Senate."

Public Policy Polling (2016-05-17) (http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/john-mccain/)
39% ... McCain
26% ... Ward
04% ... Meluskey
03% ... McBean
02% ... Van Steenwyk
27% ... Undecided

He's benefiting from having multiple opponents ... McCain is very strong among moderates, leading Ward 60-10. But among 'somewhat conservative' voters he leads just 34-29, and with 'very conservative' ones he's down 35-28. When you narrow the field down to just a choice between McCain and Ward, it's a tie at 41%. Ward is polling this competitively at this point despite having only 41% name recognition.
Even if McCain does manage to survive the Republican primary, it's not going to be a walk in the park for him in the general. His overall approval rating is 34/52, and he leads Ann Kirkpatrick only 42/36 in a head to head match up. The race is close despite Kirkpatrick having only 58% name recognition at this point. If Ward advances to the general election it looks like this contest will basically be a toss up- she gets 37% to 35% for Kirkpatrick so it's pretty much a wash.

One issue that's tricky for McCain right now is the Supreme Court fight. 61% of voters in the state say they support confirmation hearings for Merrick Garland, compared to only 24% who are opposed to them. By a 17 point margin voters say they're less likely to vote for a Senator who opposes hearings- 40% say that stance makes them less likely to vote for someone, compared to only 23% who consider it a positive. But among Republican voters there's 35/44 opposition to hearings, and voters say by a 16 point spread that they're more likely to vote for someone who opposes hearings. So McCain's obstructionism might be helpful in getting him through the primary, but it's a completely different story when you get to the general. For instance independents support hearings, 65/21.

Dr. Kelli Ward, "John McCain is directly responsible for the rise of ISIS."

"John McCain is “directly responsible” for the rise of ISIS. Without his dangerously distracted foreign policy, we would not have this ruthless Islamic extremist organization that crucifies children, systematically rapes women, oppresses Christians, and throws homosexuals off rooftops.

Libya and Iraq would not be the “Harvard of terrorism” they are now if it were not for his knee-jerk, trigger-happy foreign policy of promiscuously arming the supposedly moderate militants he says he is “intimate with” and overthrowing stable, albeit unsavory regimes. He even wants to stay in Iraq for 100 years and joked about risking military lives to “Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.” Even George W. Bush and Tony Blair have admitted that the 2003 invasion of Iraq created a vacuum which allowed jihadist ideologies to flourish. Our open border has given those emboldened elements access to our country and our citizens. McCain has been complicit in all of it."

McCain's greatest hope has been that the anti-McCain vote is divided.

Alex Melusky, however, has now stepped aside suspending his campaign to enable Dr. Ward to defeat McCain.

Meluskey:
“I made it very clear from the outset that if I was not in a position to win this race, I would do what is best for our state, and for our country, and step aside before voting began”, he stated. “That is why effective today, I am suspending my campaign and therefore I am not presently a candidate for the U.S. Senate. I am keeping my promise to the people of Arizona in order to clear the way for the defeat of John McCain”.

Many political observers expect McCain to easily advance to the November election. Legitimate polling in the state is lacking, and the only head-to-head poll measuring McCain versus Ward, in late January, showed McCain so far ahead that another poll hasn't been done.

I'd like to see a newer poll. SHe is lightyears better than Songbird McCain. But McCain has millions more than her in funds.

McCain has a history of fighting off primary challenges from the right. In 2010, he trounced conservative stalwart Rep. J.D. Hayworth by 24 percentage points.

McCain has been spending his vast war chest on the Democrat in line to challenge him if he knocks off Ward and Van Steenwyk in the primary. He had $5.8 million in the bank June 30, compared with just $240,000 for Ward.

http://truepundit.com/arizonas-jeff-flake-announces-he-will-not-seek-re-election-to-u-s-senate/

Condemning the nastiness of Republican politics in the era of President Trump, Sen. Jeff Flake on Tuesday announced he will serve out the remainder of his term but will not seek re-election in 2018.

He told The Arizona Republic ahead of his announcement that he has become convinced “there may not be a place for a Republican like me in the current Republican climate or the current Republican Party.”

Good news, but don't count out the establishment. Remember Marco Rubio. This keeps Flake out of the campaign limelight.

Karl Rove, Mitch McConnell and friends will put one or more establishment neocon candidates into the race to cause a sh!tstorm. If they do not poll high enough to beat Ward, Flake can get back in the race at the last minute after everyone else is covered in sh!t.
