Here’s how the Kentucky constitution reads:

Only a marriage between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in Kentucky. A legal status identical or substantially similar to that of marriage for unmarried individuals shall not be valid or recognized.

Solution: Govt needs to get out of marriage.

- Govt needs to start recognizing that the power to grant permission to get married is beyond the scope of its authority.
- People need to STOP asking Govt's permission to do everything.

I want to know why she was arrested and not just fired? Trying to make examples out of people. Government should not be granting permission to marry any way. It's not sanctified by government, it's sanctified by God.

I was just told she was elected, so firing her per se isn't going to happen. However with any elected officials they can be impeached, expelled and recalled from office.

But Davis IS following the law. The Constitution of the Commonwealth of Kentucky specifically defines marriage as one man and one woman. She was duly elected by the voters of Rowan county in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She does not work for the federal government. If she is to be removed from office, there would need to be a petition for a special election, then petitions to be on the ballot, then a special election. She could well be reelected from jail. It has happened before.

She's not obeying the law, she's claiming that her religious beliefs allow her to violate the law in her official capacity as a government employee.

Check out her actual claims in court. They are not lawful claims. She's as wrong as everyone else in this mess is.
