TOKYO — An explosion at a U.S. Army depot outside of Tokyo set off a large blaze that lit up the night sky early Monday morning, but there were no reports of injuries.
The blast happened after midnight at the Sagami Depot in Sagamihara, a city about 25 miles (40 kilometers) southwest of Tokyo, said Navy Commander Bill Urban, a Pentagon press officer.

Sure it isn't China trying to start something?
Seriously, think about it. Their economy is tanking so they could be desperate.
I am just speculating.

Did anyone read the part about the explosions in China being right next to Japan's largest manufacturing plant for cars in China?

Wasn't there a (i.e., yet another) natural gas explosion in NY a few days ago and also something in LA on the same day that caused a large power outage during some large concert?

Defense Secretary Robert Gates warned Japan that it would face serious consequences if the new regime did not honor the commitments on US bases given by previous prime ministers. Maybe Japan didn't get the message when they got Fukushimad. Heh. Of course, China devalued the Yuan by 1.9%, which essentially sent shockwaves around the world and setting off a devastating impact to the U.S. economy. Seems like I heard that they had a litle accident recently, too.
Ah well. Here is some relevant reading while I'm thinking of it. There is actually a wealth of information here on the forum as far as backdrop. Fragmented as it is, unfortunately. BRICS thread is a good start.
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has delivered a warning to Beijing about the presence of Chinese government agents operating secretly in the United States to pressure prominent expatriates — some wanted in China on charges of corruption — to return home immediately, according to American officials.
The American warning, which was delivered to Chinese officials in recent weeks and demanded a halt to the activities, reflects escalating anger in Washington about intimidation tactics used by the agents. And it comes at a time of growing tension between Washington and Beijing on a number of issues: from the computer theft of millions of government personnel files that American officials suspect was directed by China, to China’s crackdown on civil liberties, to the devaluation of its currency.

Are you suggesting that the US caused the Tsunami that slammed Japan? Don't get me wrong, I think anything is possible but just haven't thought of that angle before. They must have put the HAARP machine in overdrive :)

I'm simply recognizing that President Obama's warning recalls the similar events of Fukushima almost exactly. First a new Japanese government came to power. That government clearly indicated it wanted to improve relations with China, and also requested the US close down and remove its Okinawa base. US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates then issued a warning to Japan that was hardly more than a disguised threat. Then came the earthquake, the tsunami, and the Fukushima disaster. Similarly, observations with regard to the Indonesian tsunami showed that there were inexplicable sell offs of Indonesian sovereign securities on the markets, followed a week later by a tsunami. So, then, essentially, I'd say that accidents in the context of major economic and geopolitical events, such as the Chinese yuan devaluation, should be looked at carefully. That's all. And, again, there is a wealth of information here on the forum as far as backdrop relative to economic goings-on around the world.
"We reserve the right to use all necessary means – diplomatic, informational, military, and economic – as appropriate and consistent with applicable international law, in order to defend our nation, our allies, our partners and our interests," the May 16 document said.
Pentagon spokesman Colonel Dave Lapan confirmed that the White House policy did not rule out a military response to a cyber-attack.
