Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura suggested Tuesday that he’d be glad to be Donald Trump’s running mate.

“Do you think Donald would ever think of asking me?” Ventura said during an interview on his “Off the Grid” show with former Trump adviser Roger Stone .

Ventura said he’d support Trump for the GOP presidential nomination.

“I shocked my staff today,” Ventura said. “I came in and said, ‘You know what, as far as the Republicans are concerned, I hope Trump wins.’”

“I’m not a Republican – I’m not a Democrat either – so ultimately I’d like somebody else overall,” the former WWE wrestler added.

In his endorsement, Ventura cited Trump’s ability to frustrate the influence of political parties and the mainstream media.

“These insiders to our government, you’re right Roger, Trump has scared the hell out of them, because as you said, they can’t control him,” Ventura said.

Jesse just keeps on getting dumber and dumber by the day, or he's showing deference to a fellow WWE member.

Gov. Ventura endorsed Trump in the 2000 presidential race also.

Today a world class attention whore announced that another world class attention whore was getting more attention than he needed, and attempted to steal some of it for himself. The other attention whore did not complain.

And still nobody noticed that they're both socialists.

Jesse "The Waddle" Ventura just needs to die a very quiet death.

Not a chance of him going gentle into that good night.

But I, too, am about ready for him to go loudly but just go.

Did anyone ever figure out how much the people of Minnesota paid for that 'entertainment'?

I watched every one of his "Conspiracy Theory" episodes for their entertainment value. But from a factual standpoint, I doubt I've ever seen such large jumps to conclusions.

So you fact-checked all of the episodes? You found there was no credible evidence in any of them, including the Police State episode?

Regardless, the point of all the episodes wasn't to prove the Conspiracies true, but to gather facts and make educated guesses. Just because Ventura himself made conclusions you find dubious doesn't make the facts that he did find out any less true.

I find that so amusing.... I think Ventura on acid or something. Last time he was on Alex Jones, he was bitching that we don't have open borders. Let them all flood in. Maybe because he lives in Mexico, he wants all of them in the U.S. He changes his opinion, almost as much as Trump. Maybe they are a good match.

I thought he was pretty cool at one time. But now, I think his mind is gone. Every time I see him interviewed, he says something different than the last time. Must be some damn good drugs in Mexico, no wonder he moved there.

Hillary is a bigger warmonger than half the Republican candidates. Why would 'republican' have any bearing on the question at all, unless you are implying that antiwar people are too stupid to look beyond party onto the actual candidate and their actual policies?

Back to the OP, Ventura was just coming off of praising Bernie Sanders. Since Sanders and Trump share the same area of a Nolan Chart, I guess it just makes sense that JV would switch from Bernie to Donald. I mean, same platform, more jackass. What more could a pro wrestler want?

JESSE VENTURA BACKS TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura says he hopes Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination for president — and that he would be open to running as his vice president.

The former pro wrestler's support for Trump comes despite some major political differences, including on immigration. The billionaire businessman has taken a hardline stance on immigration, calling for the deportation of all 11 million people estimated to be living in the country illegally.

By contrast, Ventura lives in Mexico and has criticized Trump for his remarks about immigrants. Ventura says immigration status should not affect employment in the U.S.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press ( http://bit.ly/1PmCLst ) says Ventura talked about Trump on his Internet TV show "Off the Grid." Ventura has previously endorsed Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Wait what?

Former Gov. Jesse Ventura says he’s backing Sen. Bernie Sanders in his bid for president. In a blog post on his independent media site, Ventura praised Sanders for challenging Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Party nomination.

“I think what Bernie Sanders is doing is extremely healthy,” Ventura wrote. “I love the idea of somebody throwing a fly in the ointment.”

This isn’t the first time Ventura backed a presidential candidate looking to shake up the system. In 2008 and 2012, Ventura backed Republican Ron Paul for president.

In 2004, Ventura backed Democrat John Kerry against Republican President George W. Bush.

Ventura, who has been a frequent critic of the two party system, also praised Sanders for deciding to run as a Democrat in order to get attention. Sanders, who serves as an independent in the U.S. Senate, said he’s running as a Democrat partly because getting on the ballot as an independent in all 50 states is difficult.

“Hats off to Bernie Sanders. I’ll help him anyway I can, although I’m not quite as socialistic,” Ventura wrote. “Bernie believes in power to the people and the people controlling the government, and I believe in that also. So I hope Bernie’s successful, and I wish him well the whole way.”

The man is officially off his rocker.

It says he supports him for the Republican nomination. Sanders isn't running against Trump for that.

The man is officially off his rocker.

If you read what Ventura actually said an not the reporter's fanciful interpretation, he didn't endorse either man for President. He just said he supports what Sanders is doing in the Democratic Primary and that he supports Trump in the GOP Primary and would be open to considering being his VP. Nothing about who he would support in the General. Hell, Jesse might run himself for all we know.
