Flat tax raises taxes on the poor, middle class and lowers it for the rich. Its simplicity sounds nice though.

Canada is single payer- and their healthcare costs a lot less than ours does. We spend a lot of time and money (about half of all costs) simply processing all the paperwork needed to be sent to all the different insurers on all their different plans and all the different supporting documents each requires. While our administration costs are about 50%, theirs is only about 16%.

Neither system is perfect. There is no such thing.

Then the flat tax will be stealing more money from you than the government takes today. (unless you are in the top tax bracket). Is that a good thing? Or do you want to keep your taxes as low as possible?
