WHY DON’T more candidates use the power of the social-media pen?

Now, on Thursday night, Comic Riffs wasn’t the only cartoonist sketching the GOP debates in real time. So were such colleagues as Liza Donnelly and Ann Telnaes. Yet that sparks the question: Why don’t all the presidential contenders themselves encourage doodled commentary by their converts?

Today, Rand Paul’s camp, for one, did just that, encouraging backers of the Kentucky Republican to scribble their support amid Paul’s two-day spillover clash with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

And so far, through Twitter and Instagram, some fans have drawn a line in their stand by publishing out their #StandWithRand cartoons. Here is a small gallery of examples:

The progressives feel he is softening some of his previous positions on Civil Liberties and foreign policy to appeal more to Republicans. They are correct in a sense.

The only part I get is Rand has lost his right to freedom of speech. Christie has gagged him. Then I guess they are making fun of Christie's weight loss surgery.

In the cartoons published in the posted article, I like the best the one that says the only thing I got from the debate is that Christie hugs people. Pretty funny...

It is not - it is a slam on Fox - shut up the guy with all the ideas -
So, piss on Murdoch would be the funny part though.

Christie gets his stomach banded - Rand gets his ideas censored.

The campaign obviously have not heard about memes. This gif - http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?479956-Get-a-Warrant-GIF - puts all of these pictorials to shame and does not make Rand look like a doofus.

I can't draw at all but when this was happening, during the debate, I was thinking that Crispy probably wipes his arse with the Bill of Rights.

Maybe you could draw him in the Water closet, reading a newspaper with lots of appropriate headlines(nytimes.com/2015/05/08/us/nsa-phone-records-collection-ruled-illegal-by-appeals-court.html) and have a TP roll of the Constitution for him to wipe with.

Don't take it too seriously. This was just a fun way to give supporters a chance to interact with the campaign.

Wow, that's awesome, great job Gage.
